Mega Millions lottery jackpot increased to $54 million

The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery game grew to $54 million Wednesday.

None of the tickets sold for Tuesday's $41 million drawing matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball. The next drawing will be Friday.

There were 14 second-prize winners from Tuesday night's drawing: 1 from California, 1 from Michigan, 6 from New York, 1 from Ohio, 1 from Texas, 2 from Virginia, and 2 from Washington. Each ticket matched all five lotto numbers but not the Mega Ball number to win $250,000.

The California second prize winner will receive $193,418 because California does not award the fixed prize amounts that the other Mega Millions state use.

Also, 61 players matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. California third prize winners will receive $8,791 each.

The winning numbers from Tuesday's drawing were: 7, 11, 22, 27 and 31. The Mega Ball number was 33.

The Texas Megaplier was 3.
