Scratchers are the "Instant Games"

....which I am humbly awaiting for the shutdown to end so that I can cash in the ones I bought and won off of before the shutdown.

On a different note:

I had to laugh at some of those merchants,  especially the ones that usually snub their noses up at us lottery players and make us wait until after they have waited on customers that  came in after the lottery player, but because they are actually buying merchandise from them, will take them first. Some even said that Lottery Players make up 30% of their yearly revenue/sales.

HA! Perhaps now they  will Kiss us lottery players feet when we walk in!!!!!!!

ROFLLLLLLLL - I just couldn't resist!

The "Demorats" obviously shut down the casinos and the lottery for the publicity such moves would bring.  Nobody cares about code enforcement or the tax office.  Shutting those things down might lead to dancing in the streets. Heaven forbid a citizen might be happy!

It's a funny (maybe not-so-funny!) thing to read that NJ Democrats feel that by raising the sales tax, "our citizens are all emerging as winners."  No, any first grader could tell you that raising the sales tax makes everyone a loser.  Plus, the whole "property tax relief" thing is a crock.  Check out their logic -- you raise the sales tax, and use some of it to pay back higher property taxes.  That right, I feel like a winner now!!!!!

I believe, according to our news, that you in NJ are the only state that has higher property taxes than we do in WI.  So it must be h*ll, because ours are ludicrous.  They tried to raise the the taxes in the past few years, and had, literally, angry citizens descend upon their meetings. It almost got out of control.

They (the PTB, aka clueless pols) know better than to try that route again here. So instead, because they can't manage (literally) to live within their budgets, they are raising "fees" everywhere you look. They call it a "fee increase" but the people are so stupid; they know it is a tax increase.

THey thing that's so ridiculous is that it is apparent the PTB have zero clue as to how to fix the problem. They just figure they wil have to spend more and more and more, and don't understand that the average person isn't making more and more and more. I remember in the 1960's they used to talk about how the Roman Empire collapsed after it started taxing its citizens at a 30% plus rate. Well folks, we're there. ANd if they don't stop this crap and come up with other solutions, the USA could go the same way as the Romans.

Some of the payouts during the shut-down were weird.. like over 700 dollars straight but nothing for pairs.. meaning nobody picked winnning pairs and you could have scored big if you played "990" for a week ahead on Jul. 1st. Of course because that's over 600 you'd have to pay taxes on that.

From what it sounds like, you can buy tickets now or claim winnings, but the LIVE drawings would resume Sunday afternoon. There have to still be some 7-day advance tickets out there so drawings must still be happening "in the dark" as it were. I am guessing that it's possible to play today for today's drawings but can only get the results from the njlottery site.

Personally I am not playing until it's fully back to normal, with normal payouts and live drawings. I don't feel like the nj Government (particularly Corzine) appreciates Lottery players. I'm mostly still playing in PA or NY when I can.

My husband and I had planned to drive up to A.C. for the day to celebrate my birthday. I'm not sure if the Casino's have re-opened, but I'd bet those Casino Executives have gotten their heads together on how they are going to win their lose revenues back. I'll be planning a visit later on thank you.
