The Maine Lottery yesterday completed the third of its three Summer Spectacular raffle drawings, which awarded cash prizes, as well as some prizes not normally associated with a state lottery.

Unlike most other state lotteries in which raffle tickets typically cost $10 or $20 each, Maine's raffle tickets were given away for free after a minimum purchase was made.

Lottery players looking to pick up a raffle ticket had only to make a regular lottery ticket purchase of $5 on a single ticket of Powerball, Megabucks, Weekly Grand, Pick 3 or Pick 4, and a Bonus Raffle ticket printed following that ticket.

There were three separate Raffle Drawings, in May, June, and July.  Bonus Raffle Numbers are only valid for the one drawing following the date it was printed.  For example, a ticket purchased on June 1 was valid for the June 15 drawing, but not for the July 13 drawing.

There was one top prize of $25,000 awarded in each drawing.  Other cash prizes awarded in each drawing included one prize of $10,000, one prize of $5,000, and ten prizes of $1,000.

In addition to the cash prizes, the Maine Lottery also awarded merchandise in each drawing.

• Drawing on May 18:  10 Weber Gas Grills
• Drawing on June 15:  10 John Deere Tractors
• Drawing on July 13:  10 Vespa Scooters

Raffle tickets can be verified by lottery players the day after the drawing through the lottery terminal at any lottery retailer.

If a ticket is winner, a "Claim Receipt" will print that states "File claim at lottery headquarters with original ticket".  If the ticket is a non-winner, a "Cash Reject" ticket will state "Not A Winner".

All prizes must be claimed at Lottery headquarters at 10 Water Street in Hallowell, Maine (open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM).  Players can also mail the winning ticket with a completed claim form to: Maine State Lottery, 8 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333-0008.

All prizes must be claimed within one year of the raffle draw date. Winners of merchandise prizes should call the Lottery office before filing a claim.
