$333 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot increased

Mega Millions

Rare mid-week increase spurred by massive sales

Mega Millions lottery players across the United States are pulling out the stops for tonights drawing, which now stands as the largest Mega Millions grand prize in 2½ years.

Because of the frantic ticket sales rate, lottery officials revised the jackpot earlier today to a staggering $333 million, with a lump-sum cash option of $210.4 million.

It is the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot of all time — or third-largest, if you count the $365 million jackpot from May 2000, when the multi-state game was called The Big Game.

Should no one win the jackpot tonight, Tuesday's jackpot would be at least $430 million, easily eclipsing the largest Mega Millions jackpot of all time, which was $390 million split by two tickets back in 2007.

To win tonight's grand prize, players must choose the selected five numbers plus the Mega Ball number. The winning numbers will be published at USA Mega (www.usamega.com) within minutes of the 11:00 p.m. drawing (Eastern Time).

Most states cut off Mega Millions ticket purchases at least 15 minutes before the draw time, so players are advised not to wait until the last minute.

The mad rush to check winnings numbers will undoubtedly caused web site outages this evening, as computer servers struggle to keep up with millions of hopeful players checking their numbers.

Players who are unable to get through to USA Mega (www.usamega.com) to check the Mega Millions lottery results are advised to wait until at least 11:30 p.m. to try the Web site again.  By that time, much of the initial wave of traffic will have subsided, and access should become easier.

430 million

O M G

god do i want a jackpot to roll more then ever for this to happen

i want that to happen, but with over close to like what 50% OR more of all odds being sold, its going to be coin toss

i want the whole world to be going super record jackpot!

, ya if just 1 person just won a  430 m jackpot ,

i would be like, god help them, it will be a  media stomped on that person, that wins it

even better if the person waits a few weeks, sense their be no doubt media reporters  asigned to covering the story, and they be PISSED on waiting for a winner to show up so long LOL

hell i know they i think take around 2 weeks time to get all the money in whoever state lotto won it, atfer they got it all, then they wire it to a special bank account you set up

so make them wait 2 weeks, then right before all that money can earn intrest for the lotto, show up and be liek  Hello, world

i also want a new record to rub it in the face;s of my pb chairman, the tn RNG whore queen

then maybe pb states can understand, making the odds biger then MM, yet having less players then MM states

, is not the way to make jackpot records happen

they will also learn, that a Jackpot cap is insane idea sense

if MM get over 400M+ to almust  half a billion jackpot,  their sales for that 1 draw will be biger then many months of sales alone, caps are a dumb idea FOR the states main goal, making money

why waste a chance of a Epic Super once in a lifetime jackpot Sale records with a  Cap

am also sure the MM lotto state HQ's are praying for a roll

if it rolls, ever MM state lotto directer will be Dancing with joy , they don't care if it rolls anymore

they already know they jsut hit the jackpot of all sale records,

they be like, yup, am getting a Large bonus check for such a good sales record this year

am sure all the lotto directers will be on tv , and not jsut 1 or 2 like it is now, grining

and going, OMG everyone look at our jackpot, dream big, and remb to buy buy buy!

That's the most conservative estimate possible - apparently they are afraid of winner's lawsuits. It will surely pass 500M barrier - guaranteed if it rolls tonight, 4 days until tuesday it will be the biggest news everywhere.
