By Todd Northrop

The Michigan Lottery continued with its string of unique and creative raffle-style games with the drawing today of its Ultimate 50/50 Raffle.

Unlike past raffle drawings, this latest game had a shorter ticket sales period, offered discounts for larger wager quantities, and awarded all of its available prize money to one lucky winner.

And that lucky winner is holding ticket number 0427300.  The winner will receive a payout worth $1,274,382, before taxes.

The winning jackpot prize amount and winning raffle number can also be found at Lottery Post's Michigan Lottery Results page (www.lotterypost.com/results/mi).

The winning lottery ticket was sold at C&A Fuel Stop in Dearborn.

Tickets for the Ultimate 50/50 Raffle were on sale between Sept. 7 and Sept. 27, 2010, with prices starting at $5 per wager.  Discounts were available for larger purchases:

  • 1 wager for $5
  • 5 wagers for $20
  • 15 wagers for $50
  • 40 wagers for $100

The winning player must file the prize claim at the Michigan Lottery's headquarters in Lansing.  The lottery is advising the winner to call (517) 373-1237 to make an appointment to claim their prize.

The College of William and Mary had a 50/50 raffle during its football games (except for tournament games when they were not allowed). They were in the same style as this game - one winner got 50% of the money that the raffle raised. I always played but never won.

Today's winning 3-ball is going to be a number between 000 and 999.

In a lot of states, lotteries benefit education. That makes the REAL winners the only people who can't play!

For a lead role in a cage?

Not me either sully16, I or should I say we in Westen Michigan never win over on the West side . We have notice that all the winners always come from the East side.Have you notice this too, even the Road to Riches which will air this Friday, the winner in the past has always been from the East.I still give whoever the Thumbs Up.

Yes, this is better. It feels more like a substantial win to the ticket holder after the 'punch-to-the-gut' 40%+ in taxes is deducted from this $1.2 million dollars.

Congratulations on your win -- it's certainly not 'retire now' money, yet it is a tidy use-of-interest-only-fund that will provide peace-of-mind for several years; if it is mainly invested at guaranteed 6%+ APY rather than spent.

Having several millions of dollars in my financial accounts means receiving several valuable services each day!

i agree on the "outter "limits seem to never win, the wife and i have spoke of this often.with my job i travel ALL over the state and will spend up to a $100.00 on a trip getting different tickets and it just seems odd that "clinton township" is about the best bet to get a winner (at least for fantasy 5)

                some day....some day

Battle Creek and Grand Rapids seem pretty luck also.
