State tries different raffle cost, prize format
By Todd Northrop
This afternoon the Florida Lottery conducted its eighth raffle drawing, but its first using a new lower-cost and lower top prize format.
The top prize in Lucky 7 Raffle is $700,000, but hundreds of other players will win prizes ranging from $70 to the top $700,000 prize.
The complete list of winning numbers for Lucky 7 Raffle can be found at Lottery Post's Florida Lottery Results page.
Tickets for the raffle went on sale March 21, and cost $10 apiece, instead of the $20 ticket cost for Florida's past raffles. A total of 1 million tickets were available for sale, and they were nearly sold out prior to the drawing, with only about 38,000 tickets remaining.
Also unlike past raffle drawings that offered a top prize of $1 million, Lucky 7 Raffle offers a top prize of $700,000.
Prizes and Odds
The list of prizes offered in Lucky 7 Raffle is as follows:
- 7 prizes of $700,000 - odds are 1 in 142,857
- 7 prizes of $70,000 - odds are 1 in 142,857

Lucky 7 Raffle prizes must be claimed by Nov. 1, 2011, which is 180 days from the date of the drawing.
Second prize winners may be hoping that one or more top prize winners does not claim their prize. If a top prize winner fails to collect by Nov. 1, that prize is passed to a second prize winner. The first-drawn second prize number wins the first non-claimed top prize, and so forth.
I got nothin! Means i'm gonna win Powerball Saturday :D
We are in the same boat and Im not a happy camper right now =)
For some reason I didn't win .............. but I am in Pennsylvania and I don't play those kind of games !
Good luck to the people entering this drawing.
I'd like to know if they got a better response with the new raffle in terms of tickets available and sold and the time it took to sell out compared to previous raffles with higher prize structures and ticket costs.
Congrats to the winners.
