Scratchers account for over 50% of total sales in Missouri and if these games can be hacked then I would think

it would be a big concern.  I once found a way for one game to win around 80% of the time but did not take

avantage of it.  I also found other games that winning tickets would have a small stripe at the point where they

were torn apart from other tickets.  I think these games all have a weakness if a person could find it and this would

be right down her alley so to speak.   I think all the tickets are numbered in some way so all you would need to do

is shop around a little and wait.  It would make sense if she was buying the tickets all over and not just in one

or two places but if you were not in a hurry you could let it come to you.

Three of her wins, all in two-year intervals, were by scratch-off tickets bought at the same mini mart in the town of Bishop.

It's not her fault that 3 of the winning tickets were sold in the same store.

Ah, I see what you're gettin' at.

You're sayin' the Catholics was behind it cuz the name of the town was Bishop.

        I think that's crazy.

Congratulations to Joan Ginther! There is nothing more appealing than a beautiful mind!

Have you noticed that the people who have won the lottery multiple times and/or cracked the lottery code are all women over 40? Joan Ginther won the lottery 4 times, Amy McCauley won the lottery twice, and L Hattingh-Spurgeon cracked the lottery code.  Wow, I expect lightning bolts to come out of their feet!Thumbs Up

She was called the luckiest woman in the world.

But now that luck is being called into question by some who think that winning the lottery four times is more than just a coincidental spell of good fortune.

Joan R. Ginther, 63, from Texas, won multiple million dollar payouts each time.

First, she won $5.4 million, then a decade later, she won $2 million, then two years later $3 million and finally, in the spring of 2008, she hit a $10 million jackpot.

The odds of this has been calculated at one in eighteen septillion and luck like this could only come once every quadrillion years.

Harper's reporter Nathanial Rich recently wrote an article about Ginther, which questioned the validity of this 'luck' with which she attributes her multiple lottery wins to.

First, he points out, Ginther is a former math professor with a PhD from Stanford University specialising in statistics.

A professor at the Institute for the Study of Gambling & Commercial Gaming at the University of Nevada, Reno, told Rich, "When something this unlikely happens in a casino, you arrest 'em first and ask questions later."

Although Ginther now lives in Las Vegas, she won all four of her lotteries in Texas.

Three of her wins, all in two-year intervals, were by scratch-off tickets bought at the same mini mart in the town of Bishop.

Rich proceeds to detail the myriad ways in which Ginther could have gamed the system — including the fact that she may have figured out the algorithm that determines where a winner is placed in each run of scratch-off tickets.

He believes that after Ginther figured out the algorithm, it wouldn't be too difficult to then determine where the tickets would be shipped, as the shipping schedule is apparently fixed, and there were a few sources she could have found it out from.

According to Forbes, the residents of Bishop, Texas, seem to believe God was behind it all.

The Texas Lottery Commission told Rich that Ginther must have been 'born under a lucky star', and that they don't suspect foul play.

Thanks to Dave for the tip.

Why all the questions about her wins? You had no trouble taking her money the months and years she was not winning. If it's your time to win, algorithms or not, you are going to win.Party

You can also win by cheating.

Like President Reagan said when negotiating with the Soviets on strategic arms limitation : "Trust but verify."

It never hurts to ask questions when a pelican is walking like a duck.

LOL, you got me there, Nance.

I assumed a feminine nature to a name like Edessa and I may well be wrong.

I'm not hip to all these video games and being that EdessaKnight chose not to divulge a gender on their profile, I could not but hazard a reckoning.

Ruling out a gaze upon his/her countenance, I'll await a rejoinder.

                        My apology EdessaKnight, if required.
