A man who used his last four quarters to buy a lottery ticket at a Macomb County, Michigan, market won a $1.3 million Classic Lotto 47 jackpot, according to the Michigan Lottery.

The winner, whose name, age and hometown weren't released, is an Army veteran whose has been disabled since 2009 with a back injury, lottery officials said in a press release. The jackpot came at just the right time to help the man deal with undisclosed family issues and to help his four children, the press release said.

"This is a direct blessing from God," he was quoted as saying in the press release. "Now everybody will be okay."

The man bought the ticket at Towns Mart, at 13200 32 Mile Road, in Washington Township, near Romeo.

A day after buying the ticket, the man returned to the store to check the numbers.

"I got weak in the knees while I was standing at the counter, after he (the retailer) told me I had matched all six numbers," the winner said in the press release.

That is freaking awesome. Like I said, sometimes you just have to take a chance and roll the dice.

Like true believers always say. He (God) may not always come when you want to...but he is always on time! Congrats to the lucky winner. I hope he uses the money wisely. 1.3 million is not a mega jackpot but it's a whole lot more than 4 quarters. It should be enough to get back on his feet but he is no where set for life. Especially after taxes. It will just may life a little more comfortable.Cheers

I was so touched with these words, I love the way he said "Now everybody will be okay".  I know that God had given him this blessing because he have been disabled for 3 years and now it's time for him to say...I am happy now... Congratulations Man.

I maybe wrong but I was just bending a few cold ones and reading a great Story about a Veteran winning the lotto; Good thing he was not in UTAH  and Rayan has not been elected VEEP . He said he would cut VA benefits to get the budget in order;;;; no lotto in Utah I wonder why ? They still must have Money left over from the Olympics. Just Wondering whats is like to live a Financial life thats not impressed by big jackpots.
Being a Vet and on medicare , you know it dosen't matter how good your Health care is when you are employed it all turns to Medicare at 65. I wonder if I can cover more than one spouse and use the deductions on income tax . I really got shafed in the old system  and I am gonna go FORWARD

I am very glad a veteran won this money.  More power to him.

I do wonder how fast his back will heal now that he has money to spend.

Great Story; Sometimes Lady Luck does pick the right winners.

Whenever there is a Big Winner I always say  I hope it is someone who needs it and someone who can handle it.

I know that I fit both catigorys and I'm way overdue.

Its always nice to see a fellow army vet come out on top.

How wonderful for this man. I love reading stories like these. It's very gratifying to know that someone who truly needed the money was able to win! 1.3 Million is not too shabby and will make a huge difference in this person's life.
