The company that runs the Illinois Lottery didn't meet their projected sales. They're probably hoping that by having 2 draws a day for the Lucky Day Lotto and changing the Lotto to $1 per game will bring in more money.

Well, now I'm stuck between the rock and the hard place. When Lucky Day changed to 2x/day, I quit playing and updated my Lotto charts, to play that game instead. I don't know what to do now. Maybe I'll quit playing altogether. I liked the way Lotto was with 2 plays for $1. I would've been happy with a smaller jackpot prize of $2 million. If I wanted the bigger prizes, I'd play Mega or Powerball.

exactly, believe it or not there are many people who would be perfectly content to win 2-5 million on a state lotto drawing of which whose odds are better than those aforementioned country wide gazillion dollar winning payouts. no need to hide and hire lawyers and accountants with a paltry 2-5 million dollar win. virtually no publicity so you will go unhounded by the masses. you still have your powerbore and mega millions to toss around if you want those, but no one needs100 million+ to get by. i get a charge out of people who won't play unless it's 200 million or more. they are lucky to play 10 times a year thus limiting their overall chances of winning something.

    What's the best shot here?

IL lotto 6 of 6, odds against 1 in 20,358,520

    MM with the Megaplier, 5 + 0 pays $1,000,000 5 0 1 in 3,904,701

    PB PB 5 numbers; no PB $1,000,000 $2,000,000 1 in 5,153,632.65

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

      I Agree!

I also liked the Lucky Day drawing once a day. I would buy a set of numbers and play them all week then buy a Lotto QP for 3 draws. Now I walk the 5 blocks each morning to get a Lucky Day QP for a dollar. I miss the way I use to play but nothing stays the same these days.

All it takes is a $1.00 ticket to dream. Thumbs Up

Welp, one less play for the same money but a prize added for two numbers.

        I guess it was unavoidable.

Personally, I like the little payoff for 2 numbers...

It may not be a good news for players who are on a tight budget. I think to increase the jackpot prize they should attract more players instead of increasing the price of the ticket. Even though they increase the price if 2 or more players will hit the jackpot it will be the same the prize will be smaller for each player.
