I am looking for something a bit less conspicuous

@CDanaT - Nice!  I think I'd like one of those in Colorado.

I sure appreciate all the Texas sentiment out there.  Let's try an Arlington 7-11.  Banana

I've actually started only playing the CA Super Lotto Plus. I'm confident enough in my business savvy and ideas that I could turn 5 million into hundreds of millions, the SLP is 20m right now, though. It just came to me the other week, the only reason to play the MM and PB over SLP is if you couldn't turn a few millions into a lot more. Billion dollar businesses have been started for a lot less.

If I ever won just the 8 million SLP, I'd just set a few million off to the side in case things didn't go right and then start a business. I bet in 3-4 years time that business would be generating more revenue a year than you'd get for the annual annuity on this jackpot.

The SLP also has that 2nd chance thing where they pick 5 winners every week to win 15k each, there is also a 600k drawing coming up. Even with the 15k, I could take that and be generating 5 times that a year just off the internet.

Well, if you believe in yourself and you have the know-how, then thumbs up to you. Lots of businesses have failed from others who have said the same, but if you're lucky enough to win the lottery, then you can be lucky enough to be one of those who have everything line up at the right time, with the right people and the right customer base.

It is good you have your goal, but it does come across as if you're belittling people for wanting to win more. You have the passion and drive to want to keep working umpteen hours/years after a win to get richer and to perhaps build an empire. Nothing wrong with those who have sacrificed much for work for decades to not have that same desire to keep doing it after a life changing windfall. As you said, it's a shortcut. If you could win $200 million and retire in luxury, or win $2 million and need to keep working (depending on age and circumstances) most people will take the option A.

Plus, In option A, you already have the hundreds of millions. If you can do what you said, then you can still take the $5 million you planned to and still parlay that into getting the hundreds of millions except your risk would be much much less. Perhaps I'm just not understanding your wanting to opt for a smaller jp when for the same ticket cost you could win the amount you're aiming to have in the long run. Small shortcut vs a massive shortcut.

That is a massive presumption and you're way off base. I wasn't belittling anybody. Not everybody on here can even play the SLP, that would make no sense if that were my intentions. Aim for whatever you want man, I was just saying what I had started doing.

Watch it be a sole winner in DC who just happens to be a member of our beloved congress.

That will be like spitting in the face of everyone who has ever played the lottery.
