Bob Sabo, of Easton, says he didn't want to wait in line to buy a lottery ticket at the Super Stop & Shop in Fairfield, so he decided to buy a ticket from a lottery vending machine - something he had previously never done. Sabo says he meant to buy two $20 tickets, but says he didn't have his glasses on and instead bought a $30 ticket. "When I got home and scratched the 30X ticket, I couldn't believe it--we won $30,000," Sabo told CT Lottery officials. "Winning the way we did was a very freaky thing!" The store will receive $300 from CT Lottery for selling the top prize winning ticket. (Click to display full-size in gallery)

My mistakes get me fully punished. For example the day I wake up late is the day the highway is literally a parking lot and then I get rained on as I sprint through the parking lot at work. Also my boss notices that I'm late. My life sucks That money's gone fo ever

My life sucks I agree! I don't think I've ever won a dime on anything I bought by mistake. I bought some extra draw tickets with a small win last Friday. I asked for 10 PB 10 Hot Lotto and 5 Lucky for Life. She printed 10 LFL on the one ticket, so I bought it. I can't stand to leave mistake tickets that were printed for me, but never buy other's mistake tickets. I didn't win a thing on the extra PB and HL tickets, but I'm hoping to win at least $10 on LFL tonight just to make up for her mistake. But I'm not holding my breath since it's never happened before.

"Bob Sabo, of Easton, says he didn't want to wait in line to buy a lottery ticket." Well, Bob and anyone else who doesn't want to wait in line, or queue as they say here, subscriptions are the answer. If your state doesn't offer a subscription service, you can subscribe to Megabucks Doubler from the Massachusetts Lottery from anywhere in the United States. We all get a lot out of lotteries!

United States Member #72446 March 18, 2009 1332 Posts Offline | Congratulations to this thrilled winner! In some states, the lottery ticket vending machines don't give change! Consequently, I wonder if this man put in two $20 bills and only punched and received the $30 valued ticket. Regardless, in this case -- since this regular big-ticket gambler won several thousand dollars -- he probably doesn't care! Having several millions of dollars in my financial accounts means receiving several valuable services each day!
