Uber driver wins $140,000 after passenger tips him with lottery ticket

Colorado Lottery

A Colorado Uber driver received a tip from a passenger that eventually landed him $140,000.

The man, identified as James P., said a rider gave him a $5 Super Special Ultimate Bingo Scratch ticket. He won $30 from that first ticket and used it to buy six more of the same kind.

He told the lottery he kept winning small amounts and "just kept rolling it over and over into more tickets."

Eventually, it paid off.

Six weeks later, he bought the winning ticket which earned him a $140,000 prize.

The Colorado man said he plans to give his parents some of his winnings but also wants to use some of the money to fix up his car, he added.

James said he has driven the passenger who gave him the initial ticket multiple times, but hasn't seen him since the win.

"I haven't been able to find him yet and tell him about this, but I hope I do," James said.

How true!...so happy for him!

When you don't see me post any longer you will know what happened!

It's coming!

He made and won more money than anyone in that company.    it's sad that most desperate people will do that and not realize the burden of either taxes,  their vehicles, or anything else.

If he had winning ticket,  I wouldn't say anything.  Start his own venture.

"until he won an amount that satisfied him."  James P. might not be satisfied and he is playing Mega Millions and Power Ball.

maximumfun, I grant you that it was nicely done. He kept rolling his winnings into the next ticket.

noise-gate

James had to “ wait” 6 weeks for his dream to come to fruition. What a guy!  Others, have waited decades, so 6 weeks is a walk in the park, so to speak. Sometimes you just have to plug away, dig in, in order to “ get there,to arrive.”.. at your destination!

Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus!

I have been thinking about how I would feel or think after I win the Powerball Jackpot. I will recognize that I now have more money than I need for the rest of my life. What will I do with the excess?

Family, friends, and strangers will have the answers to that question. But 99% of their answers will be wrong for me. So, I must hire professionals with some of that excess money.

The road ahead will be one in which very few have traveled. I can understand why past winners have lost all or most of their winnings. While most winners are living quiet and successful lives.

wander73 you're onto something.  Keep his mouth shut, lots of jealous people out there.  Why pester the passenger?  He may stalk him and say 'where's my share?'  Lots of crazies out there.
