Kentucky LotteryKentucky Lottery: Kentucky Lottery adds new Keno game featureRating:

Keno is Kentucky's 2nd-most popular draw game

Kentucky Lottery players now have a new way to win even more prizes in the popular game Keno, as the new Bulls-Eye feature is now available.

Players can choose to add the Bulls-Eye to their base Keno wager for a chance to win additional prizes. Adding Bulls-Eye will double the cost of the base Keno wager. For example, if a player wagers $5 on their base Keno game, adding Bulls-Eye will cost an additional $5.

During every drawing, a Bulls-Eye number is selected from one of the 20 winning Keno numbers drawn. If any of a player's numbers match the Bulls-Eye number, the player wins a Bulls-Eye prize in addition to any base Keno winnings.

"Players really respond well to any additional chances to win, and we think Bulls-Eye will be a hit with our core players," said Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Tom Delacenserie. He said the lottery has an aggressive goal of Keno sales in excess of $100 million in the next two years, and that Bulls-Eye will be a big factor in this effort. The game has already proven very popular with players — Delacenserie says last year Keno actually surpassed Powerball in sales, becoming the second-most popular draw game behind Pick 3.

"Anything we can do to grow sales has a direct impact on growth of the college scholarship and grant programs we fund, including the popular KEES scholarship" says Delacenserie. "We know our state's best, brightest and most deserving students are counting on us."

Anything to make the players spend more money!

NY has "QUICK DRAW"....a keno based game. Pick 1 -10 numbers from a field of 80.

They also offer Quick Draw EXTRA. For an EXTRA $1, you can multiply any amount you win by the multiplier number. Only thing is, you need to win something to multiply. and most of the time the EXTRA number ends up being NO EXTRA.

SO, you paid an extra $1, but don't win any extra!

Unlike with MM and PB, if you win a prize, you get at least 2x to 5x with MM or 2x to 10x with PB.

Just gave this a try.  Yesterday did OK with the multiplier; however you cannot buy Bulls-Eye and Multiplier together.

If the Kentucky Lottery is expecting to get $100 million in two years from this
Keno game alone. I'm wondering how many times the game is going to be pull?

        I Agree! with you Bleudog101,

It even surpassed Power Ball in sales. That is an achievement! Are you all ready to win PB & MM this week? Cheers

You know it music* so ready to win big.    I didn't do as well with the Bulls-Eye like with yesterday's multiplier; played the same #'s.

KY lottery put 'Tis the Season to be Lucky very sturdy envelopes @ the retailers.  This year for our guests I bought twenty $2.00 Holiday Riches tickets and put one in ech envelope.  Years past would buy MM or PB, which ever is higher.  Somebody is bound to win something with most of the roll bought.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year music*!

cbr$: It pulled every 4' from 0504-0156 hours 7 days/week.  Obviously it is an RNG game.

Played Bulls-eye, winnings were $29 for twenty draws.  Yesterday same #'s with Multiplier paid me $64 to my account.

Hope you guys jump on the bandwagon in 2019!?

The KY Keno multiplier is problematic because when the multiplier is "1", the prize winnings are not increased and there is a 40% chance a "1" will be drawn. If a player bets $5 the multiplier costs $5 too making it a $10 bet.  The MM and PB multipliers are much better bets because the lowest factor is "2" meaning for an extra $1, any winnings with the exception of the jackpot are at least doubled. That being said lots of players won 10 times more using the multiplier.

With the new Bulls-eye feature players only have to match one of their numbers to win. Because a 10-spot pays $5 for matching 0 numbers, IMO adding the Bulls-eye is better than using the multiplier. The odds of the bulls-eye hitting a 1-spot is 1 in 20, but the payoff is $50 for a $2 bet. A $2 bet using neither feature pays $4 and matching a 10 times multiplier pays $20.

Hitting the Bulls-eye always multiplies the prize, but there is a 40%  the multiplier will be "1". Players can play both by making two separate bets but neither will have any effect on the other.

Nickel-and-diming means charging you a fee for something that should be included (seat assignment fee on an airline ticket, resort fee at a hotel, etc.)

The Bulls-eye option is just that... an optional bet.

I did the calculations, and with the exception of 1 spot, they all have a payback percentage of about 65% for both the base game and the Bulls-eye bonus game. I didn't analyze the Multiplier option. The 1 spot game has a payback percentage of only 50% on the base game and 60% on the Bulls-eye bonus for a combined 55% return on a $2 bet if you do both, so I recommend against that one. 2 to 10 spots is good. More spots has a higher top prize but lower chance to win it (obviously).

The probability of winning all 10 of 10 spots is 1 in 8,911,711. If you play Bulls-eye bonus, and you got 10 of 10 spots, you have a 50% chance that the Bulls-eye number will be one of your numbers, since you have 10 of the 20 winning numbers, making the probability of winning 10 of 10 spots AND the Bulls-eye bonus 1 in 17,823,422.

So the probability of winning both bets is half as much, but you win three times as much ($300,000 instead of $100,000).

I think this is a good game, by state lottery standards.

Hey there Bleudog101! You actually CAN play both Bulls-Eye and the Multiplier for the same drawing - however any Bulls Eye prize would not be multiplied by the Multiplier (just the base prize would be multiplied). Let us know if you have any other questions!
