Lottery players in nine states may soon have a chance to play the game Cash4Life on daily basis.
The move from a twice-per-week to daily drawings was approved Monday by members of the the New York State Gaming Commission. If approved by the other eight states that offer the game, Cash4Life could adopt a daily drawing schedule starting on July 1.
New York started Cash4Life with New Jersey in 2014. Since then, seven other states have joined: Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia.
Cash4Life is a lottery-style game in which players pay $2 and pick five white ball numbers from 1 through 60, and then one number from a second field (the "Cash Ball"). Winning payouts can be the equivalent of $1,000-a-day for life or a lump-sum cash award.
In addition to the top prize, Cash4Life offers eight other prize levels ranging from $2 all the way up to $1,000 per week for life.
Cash4Life is currently drawn two days per week — on Mondays and Thursdays at 8:57 PM Eastern Time.
The game is drawn using a traditional mechanical lottery ball machine, providing an opportunity for players in computer-dominated states like Tennessee to enjoy a game with the confidence and verifiability of real lottery drawings.
Cash4Life is one of almost a dozen games offered by the New York Lottery, including Lotto, Powerball, Quick Draw and more.
The odds are better on Cash 4 Life than Lucky 4 Life per their websites. Also on C4L the secondary prize is much higher than L4L.
Will play L4L here and across the river when we go there.
Not sure if a daily draw is a good idea or not...time will tell.
With L4L you choose 5 numbers between 1 and 48 , and one "Lucky Ball" number between 1 and 18 (Lucky Ball).
With C4L you choose 5 numbers from 1 to 60 and 1 number from 1 to 4 (Cash Ball).

Thanks for filling it all in for folks who don't have either lottery in their state.
Am thinking if approved, they'll 'conveniently' change the matrix from 1-4 to something higher for the new days. Never content to leave a good thing alone.
How Many Top Prizes have they awarded on the current Matrix?
I know Michigan has been a member of Lucky for Life for over 4 years now and there has never been a top prize ticket sold in Michigan!
I wonder if there will be any switching games or cross sell arrangements.
Good luck to everyone who plays Cash4Life and enjoy the real draws.
I have played this game a few times. Never felt it was my game. At least I win at pb and mm sometimes.
I've had the same problem. I've bought tickets but at best I've won $10. Most of the time I do not win anything. I am a little skeptical of the 1 in 8 overall odds since I feel like I've bought more than that before and still ended up with nothing.
The 1 in 8 is an OVERALL odds. They're not saying if you buy 8 tickets that you will win, but OVERALL 1 in 8 tickets wins a prize.
If this becomes a daily game, I'll stop playing.
I don't think I will waste $2 again if that happens.
