CDanaT, Are you concerned about the safety of your relatives who share your Surname? Especially the children. They might be bullied at school. How about kidnapping?

What a dumb article. They forgot to include South Carolina in one of the states where you can claim anonymously. Sounds like a click bait story. Oh hi everyone! I am new.

Well Music..............Since my surname has been in this country since the 1630s, I don't worry about the 1000s of relatives that might be out there. None of my family have children in school. Perhaps in your concerns over my personal safety, you have forgotten about my advocacy for anonymity. But thanks for looking out for me.. Bless your little heart

Some of the statements in the article seem to suggest ''going off grid" has to be something illegal--like hiding assets.  Where did that come from?  Don't most lawyers advise lottery winners to get away for a while to let the win sink in?  There is nothing illegal about that.

Great point. Not to get off topic...but its the same thing with going 'offshore' financially ...NOTHING wrong with 'offshore' as long as someone isn't evading taxes ...AVOIDING taxes in order to get the best bang for our buck legally is perfectly legal and is a right of most citizens of the world (especially in US)

Great topic and points here. Thank you

I suppose there is somewhere on earth were a person or a family could be off the grid, but they would probably create a reality TV show.

Check out John Wells and The Field Lab in Brewster County Texas.

              That is "off the grid".

Tried talking my wife into doing that. I'll just say it didn't go over well. LOL.

I live in CA and can say NO to the Media Availability and the Photo Celebrity. My name will be in Cyber Space forever. For anyone who googles it.

I hope that in the future I will look back at these days as lucky and pleasurable with good memories.

Mark Gardiner from Britain has been a major winner for about twenty-five years and he still feels like he is in a dream. He will wake up and be back at his normal job and life. LOL!

The winners who we never hear from like Brad Duke, the West family, John and Lisa Robinson, and others stay out of the lime light and off the police blotters and the news.

Remember Brad Duke , smart fella .....

Also remember other winners too , you

                rarely hear about them ....

Remember Mr.Butler clearly , he did what was right .

I know of a young lady who won in the area ,

she moved to another town for a few years .

Decide to move back to her old town ,  where

                she felt comfortable.

                Ready To Win ....
