The Michigan Lottery's Lotto 47 jackpot hasn't been won in more than five months and has reached an extraordinary $11.7 million for the drawing on Saturday.
The last time a player in Michigan won the jackpot was in February when a $2.5 million jackpot winner was bought at the Uptown Bar, located at 8 West Front Street in Monroe.
The Lotto 47 jackpot hasn't been this large since Feb. 18, 2017, when a $22.55 million was won after more than 7 months of rollovers. The current $11.35 million jackpot has not been won in more than 5 months.
To play the Lotto 47 game, players must pick six numbers between 1 and 47. If you match all six numbers, you win the jackpot. For an additional $1 per play, players can pick the Double Play option, giving players a second chance to win up to $1.5 million in the nightly Double Play drawing. For an additional $1 per game, players may add EZMatch to their ticket for a chance to win up to $500 instantly.
Lotto 47 drawings take place Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:29 p.m. Tickets may be purchased until 7:08 p.m. the night of the drawing.
The results of Lotto 47 drawings, as well as that off all other Michigan Lottery draw games, are published at Lottery Post's Michigan Lottery Results page shortly after each drawing takes place.
Michigan residents can also buy Lotto 47 tickets online. Anyone who plays online gets instant notification if they won right after the drawing.
Playing online is a way to avoid diving into a dumpster to retrieve a winning ticket you accidentally threw away.
Lol what a pathetic amount of money, you couldn't pay me to win that!
What??? lol I'd definitely take it!
Regular Lotto in most states are slow growers. Lottery games like Mega and Powerball grow like wild fire. It seems to me that playing regular lotto is better to play and win
Too bad they don't care enough for their players to 'update' this from RNG to mechanical balls for the drawings.
Whoa, Prince of thieves: You would take it but not our “ Way to easy to win” Superlotto Plus jackpot in CA that sits at a whopping $61Mil? That’s with an estimated $40,600,000 before taxes- your priorities are misplaced. I am extending an invitation for you to get your A @#%^ over here and win it. Let me remind you, it’s Way Too Easy to win!
Thanks Lottery Post Staff for this story.
Please remember that $1,000,000.00 = $50,000.00 per year for 20 years.
This makes the Lotto 47 jackpot, $11.35 million = $567,500.00 per year for the next 20 years.
Winners must learn how to live on a budget.
Good Luck!
Michigan Lottery Commissioner Scott Bowen is waiting to welcome the winner/s and hand over a big check.
The annuity is actually over 30 years.
$11,350,000 / 30: $378,333.33 per year before taxes.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but they made that change when they went back to Classic Lotto 47. Only the instant games are 20-year annuities.
I am not writing about an annuity. I am describing how the winner/s can live on a budget for the next twenty years.
Lotto America went around a year without a win and was just one last night.
"I am not writing about an annuity."
Then why are you using the annuity amount and not accounting for taxes?
Michigan doesn't seem to be interested in telling us what the cash value is, but if the payment schedule is similar to PB or MM it should be about $7.7 million. After taxes that would be a bit better than $4.5 million, or a bit better than $225k per year tax-free if you plan to keep it under your mattress and spend 5% per year for 20 years.
I play, I hope I win.
Knowing I beat this to the ground, but it doesn't affect you playing knowing it is a RNG game? Tipton not around to rig your Michigan Lottery...LOL. Would love for you to win sully16---though we may never know.
Thanks Bleudog101.
Well my theory is players in CA are losing on purpose to help grow a huge pot. It's a fairly smart strategy. Whoever decides to pull the trigger first and win at Will is going to take it all.
