BOISE, Idaho — One of the $1 million top prize winners in the Idaho Lottery's annual $1,000,000 Raffle was having a casual time sipping coffee at his local store, but things turned exciting when he checked one of his tickets.

The Idaho Lottery caught up with one of the big winners in their annual $1,000,000 Raffle, a "long time lottery player and sixth generation Idahoan" who plans on using his $1 million prize responsibly and wisely.

Sean Klingler of Rigby was warming himself up with a cup of coffee at the local gas station hangout when a friend of his decided to check a lottery ticket. He figured he'd do the same since he had a couple of them in his truck. He went out to his car and brought in an array of tickets, including some for the raffle and some for Lotto America.

"I was at the local store having coffee and started checking some of my lottery tickets," Klingler told the Lottery. "I had eight Raffle tickets, and when the clerk checked them, she told me I had won $100,000. I didn't believe her. I thought maybe it was $100. Then she said to me, 'No, I got it wrong, you won $1,000,000!' There was a lot of high fiving in the store after that!"

He signed the winning ticket and immediately called his wife and daughter, putting them on speaker in the store so that others witnessing the winning moment could confirm it, too.

"Nobody believes you at first, that you won," Klingler said to Lottery officials. "They think you're messing with them. That's why we're taking a lot of pictures here. The big check will help, too."

He and his family made the trip right away to Lottery headquarters in Boise to claim the prize on Dec. 30. Importantly, he wants to make sure he takes a responsible approach with the winnings and plans on using them to pay off high-interest debts, buy his wife a new car, and set aside the majority for his future retirement.

"I've been playing the Lottery for a long time," Klingler remarked upon receiving his prize. "You dream about winning and when it finally comes true, it's weird."

The other top prize winner, whose $1 million winning ticket was purchased in Kootenai County, has yet to come forward. The ticket number is 326200. Ticket number 271072 won a $100,000 prize in Payette County and also remains unclaimed. The Idaho Lottery is encouraging players to check all their tickets for winners.

All winning numbers for the Idaho Lottery's $1,000,000 Raffle are available on Lottery Post's Idaho Lottery Results page.

If Sean had only waited two more days and claimed in 2026.
