The jackpot in the multistate Mega Millions lottery drawing has reached $71 million, the highest Mega Millions jackpot in almost 3 months.

None of the tickets sold for Fridays $61 million drawing matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball.  The next drawing is Tuesday.

The last time the Mega Millions jackpot was greater than $70 million was on September 30, when Danielle and Tirrell Moore from Fitzgerald, Georgia won a $150 million Mega Millions jackpot.  They decided to take the cash option, worth $88.9 million before taxes.

Five tickets matched all five lotto numbers but not the Mega Ball to win $175,000 apiece. Another 31 tickets matched four of the lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number to win $5,000 each.

The winning numbers in Fridays drawing were: 9, 16, 32, 45 and 46. The Mega Ball number was 26.
