Lottery players around the world will have more than 200 million reasons to celebrate New Year's Eve this year. That's because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday's Powerball drawing, pushing the jackpot to an estimated $210 million. That's currently the largest lottery jackpot in the world.

The $210 million jackpot would rank as the 5th largest Powerball jackpot ever, and would rank as the 7th largest lottery jackpot all-time. The cash option for the Wednesday, December 31 drawing will be an estimated $113.9 million.

There were no jackpot winners Wednesday but 1,196,961 players across the nation won a total of more than $9.6 million in prizes in America's Game.

This current jackpot run started with the Saturday, November 8 drawing. The drawing on Saturday was the 15th consecutive draw without being hit. Almost 8 million Powerball players across the nation have won a total of more than $68.7 million in cash prizes since this jackpot run started in early November.

This is the second time this year that Powerball has crossed over the $200 million mark.

The numbers drawn were: 16, 17, 32, 34, 43 and the Powerball was 31. The Power Play multiplier was 5.

Fifteen players correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000. The tickets were sold in Arizona (2), Connecticut, Indiana (2), Minnesota (3), Missouri (2), Pennsylvania (2), South Carolina (2), and Wisconsin. One of the winning Minnesota players purchased the Power Play option, multiplying their prize by 5 for a total win of $500,000.

Sdventy players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000. Six of those players purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $25,000.

More than 97,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 5 Saturday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot.

Players purchased more than 43.5 million tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.

The lotteries sold $1.6 billion in Powerball tickets in 2002. That translates into more than $480 million for worthwhile state projects.
