What would you do with $105 million? That's what Lottery players everywhere are thinking as they place their order for Friday night's Mega Millions drawing.
Lottery officials announced today that no winning ticket correctly matched all six winning numbers -- 08-17-29-32-39 and Gold Mega Ball number 49 -- in the April 6, 2004 Mega Millions drawing, sending the jackpot to an estimated $105 million for Friday's drawing.
"As the jackpot grows, so does the sale of Mega Millions tickets," said Michigan Lottery Commissioner Gary Peters. "Jackpot fever is starting to spread!"
If one winning ticket matches all six numbers in Friday night's drawing and the player has selected annuity payments over 26 years, the $105 million jackpot would amount to pre-tax payments of roughly:
$4.03 million annually;
$77,662 per week; or
$11,094 per day.
For those who prefer to take their cash winnings up-front, it's a pretty nice payday as well. If one lucky cash-option player matches all six winning numbers, he or she will take home a check for approximately $61 million (before taxes), the estimated present cash value of Friday's jackpot.
