With the excitement growing in anticipation of Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing, lottery forecasters today revised the estimated jackpot upward to $220 million.
The adjusted jackpot shows how strong Mega Millions sales have been since Friday's drawing did not produce a jackpot winner. That drawing did produce nearly 1.3 million winning tickets for prizes ranging from $2 to $175,000. The estimated jackpot amount is based on sales in each of the eleven Mega Millions states since the last drawing.
This jackpot has been building since May 7, 2004, when Mega Millions had its most recent jackpot winner. The jackpot has now rolled 14 times without a winner. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately one in 135 million.
Mega Millions' predecessor, the Big Game, made history in May of 2000 with the largest jackpot in North American history: $363 million. In February of this year, retired truckdriver J. R. Triplett of Winchester, Virginia and his wife Peggy won the largest Mega Millions jackpot to date: $239 million.

300 million
HOW FUNNY - the "official" site hasn't updated the jackpot on their site, even though the change happened early this afternoon. They are pitiful!
125 million
> I know a fellow who only plays when it is
high
$10 Mil ain't high??? :-)
>and then when he does not win he goes into a
> huge tailspin and is depressed for two days
> after drawing.
That's me, but only when somebody else wins... :-)
But then I figure what I could do with $10 Mil.... or $3 mil cash after taxes...
>it is only a game
But what I could do with the money...
> but play sensibly
I do nothing sensibly!

I say, sign your ticket NOW...
It might be only a dollar ticket now, but it has a potential... If you lose it, or gets stolen, you have no rights....
I say also sign it heavy enough to leave an impression in the paper...
