Container garden [soil aeration]
I was reading earlier after supper about using vermiculite in potting mix that it helps keep the mix aerated. They also was saying that the container mix will settle over time. I was thinking just now that I did not put any vermiculite in the potting mix. May put some vermiculite in the top layer later when I add compost in the top layer above the charcoal layer, about a five inch layer. Container garden [ the compost saga]
Read up some on compost for the potting mix. Did not use compost except for a couple handful's of black cow on the top layer of the container. Probably was not enough. Checked the garden supply and may use mushroom compost. Might just forget the 20 gallon mulch bin and buy the compost. I still will get a bale of straw to layer the top of the soil.
