It kind of feels like beating a dead horse but I'm not surprised that the jackpot for Mega Millions isn't growing as quickly, even after the Powerball jackpot was won. I could see a new national lottery launching in the $1-$2 per ticket range. People will want something for Tuesday's and Friday's to replace Mega Millions. I don't see the price of tickets for Mega Millions dropping. There are enough people out there who will keep buying tickets out of habit so it will limp along with the occasional hyped up jackpot run.

The Mega Millions jackpot has surged by $34 million to $336 million after 19 consecutive rolls marking the largest increase since the launch of the revised Mega Millions format. This rise breaks the previous record increase of $25 million and matches the record for the most consecutive rolls (19) in the current version of the game.
