I have a brilliant idea for the Mega Millions and Powerball Race. How about I win MM tonight, them it resets to 50M, and the race starts afresh when both jackpots are at 50M. It would be the perfect race!!!

Eventually power ball will be the national lottery with Mega Millions breaking up. It will be replaced by several Regional multi state lotteries. For example Texas, Florida, and California will have their own multi state and then the next 10 largest states will pool into their own multi state with the rest of the states having their own multi state lottery. I haven't touched Mega Millions since the price hike in April. I used to be a consistent 1 ticket per drawing player prior to that. It's sort of become irrelevant from my perspective. It started as $1 and a dream. Then it became $2 and a distant hope. Now it's $5 and a hard pass. Good luck to everyone with the upcoming drawings. Seems like a few of these jackpots have been rolling over for a while. Would be nice if someone finally won them.

Even though Powerball is clearly winning this race, the Powerball jackpot is growing at much lower rates than its record runs. Lottery sales for the big national games are down. This is probably the main reason the Mega Millions game was recently changed. Many of the Powerball records were set when the draws were held twice a week. Powerball to Mega millions Catch me if you can There is a clean 100M difference on the two advertised jackpots, lets see what MM is made of, if it can catch up to PB if no one wins PB in the race.
