Joining a lottery club?
Given a choice of joining a lotto pool with a group of strangers or a group of friends and family, I will always take the strangers. With friends and family, pools tend to be informal. There is always the cousin who asks to be looked after if the pool wins even though they never contribute. And then someone says, don't worry . They have just made a promise on behalf of the group. Then there is the freeloader who always promises to pay next week but never does. They will expect a share. And o

Joining a lottery club?
I am interested. I think it is the best way to overcome the huge odds of games like Mega Millions and Powerball.

There doesn't seem to be a huge frenzy for the 1.1 Billion Megamillions prize. :/
Ticket sales are down quite a bit from the last time Mega Millions had a billion dollar JP in July. The advertised JP started out at 1.02 billion for the July 29 drawing and ended up moving to 1.1 billion and then finally ending up at 1.28 billion. Ticket sales for that drawing were 703 million dollars. For this drawing the advertised JP started at 1.1 billion and never moved. Ticket sales for the drawing were 287 million. Maybe the 2 billion PB drawing in Nov has something to do with it.

Playing Quick Picks Versus Picking Your Own Numbers
Yep and if 90% of the tickets purchased are quick picks, 90% of the jackpots should be from QPs. The thing is I believe it been five years since more than one ticket won a Mega Millions jackpot and Powerball had just two tickets splitting the jackpot twice in the last five years. Regardless of purchasing QPs or self picks, each ticket has a more than 292 million to 1 chance of winning the jackpot.

Play 10 tickets every drawing or $100 once every two weeks?
I agree. The ticket price increase to $2 changed everything. I played Lotto America in a neighboring state once every other week because my state doesn't offer that game, the odds were better, the tickets were only $1, and honestly, the neighboring state is an anonymous state. I would have matched 3 white balls and the star ball if I had played last Saturday. But the payout would have only been $20! But for Powerball, I would have won $100 for 3 white balls and the red ball, even when the ticket

Why Powerball and Megamillion ticket price remains $2 if starting price is NOT $40million
Not sure if you caught this video when it came out in March, but it should give you some insight into this issue. The video headline is about game changes, but a big portion was devoted to discussion of the starting jackpot amount. The interview is with the head of the Mega Millions group, so there is no more definitive information about it than this. https://www.lotterypost.com/news/340204

Commentaries on reptilian brain chances are' gambling in lotteries
If it takes 10 seconds to fill out a Powerball [or] Mega Millions ticket, and you spent 12 hours a day filling out two-dollar tickets, every day of the year, it would take 90 years and nearly $300 million to have a 50% chance of winning the jackpot. Another example: If you bought one ticket every day of the year, it would take you 400,000 years to have a 50% chance of winning, Williams says, adding one more example to put things in perspective: The Powerball [or] Mega Millions lottery is si
