Mega Millions and Powerball Race
There's a limit to how much a jackpot can grow with multiple drawings. 3 per week vs 2 has some impact, but it's mostly on the people who are addicted to playing one set of numbers for every drawing. They don't account for much of a jackpot increase. It's the people who only play when the jackpot gets really big, or people who buy lots of QP when the jackpot gets big, that drives it up faster. A jackpot will not grow just because drawings are done more frequently. Imagine if they had drawing

Michigan Weekly Breakdown — Fantasy 5 & Lotto 47 Trend Report (April 4-9)
I think it goes without saying, a Lot has changed with PLC's since the 1990's. Drawings seem more sophisticated these days. More RNG's involved, less human intervention needed to save in total costs involved in drawing operations. Now that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is on the mainstream, it wouldn't surprise me if at some point lottery officials cut more jobs and let AI have a more part in how the drawings are conducted. I agree, tracking numbers can assist in what's most probable as t

Lottery Phobias
Funny thing, I have never watched a live drawing. I have also never watched a full recorded drawing where all numbers get drawn, it's always those short clips on news stories where they play a short piece of the draw. There's absolutely nothing wrong with watching the live draws, it's just something that I have never thought of doing

Lottery is not random it's predetermined
Actually, yes I did study physics. We never covered the effect of the weather on a mechanical ball drawing machine that operates indoors. Even if it was outside, it still wouldn't matter. Why did we skip over that important chapter, you ask? Because there is none ! A claim like that is even more absurd than saying that lottery officials rig every single drawing. The latter is possible, and it has happened. But there is no evidence to suggest that it happens all the time. But the weather? Rea

Once in a blue moon powerball X10
Stats, As jade pointed out, the PowerPlay numbers are a CGN, that's why there is no televised drawing for them. (Sorry, I knew that but failed to point it out in my initial post) Should've but when you get to be my age........ Although I've no idea where the CGN spits out the PP number, my scientific wilda$$ guess is they do it in Tallahassee. That's where PowerBall drawing are held. (At least they were held in Tallahassee, but Old Fools like me might not be aware that's where they used to

I'm done playing the lottery
What made me mad is that both sides blamed the other. The lottery can tell how much I spent on scratch-offs because those tickets are eligible for a second chance drawing. In their files is a list of tickets I've scanned for second chance drawing entries. But they decided they would rather stick to their guns and blame the retailer, and while they might be right according to the official rules, I also don't have to play their games. And if I do choose to buy any tickets, it certainly won

Lottery Numbers Aren't Meant To Be Random
the fact they pre-test in this manner is proof the numbers aren't random The method of choosing numbers by mechanical means is indeed random by natural existence. The reason why they test the machine is to make sure the thing works (machines do break down every now and then). That's what a mechanical ball drawing machine does -- pick balls at random that have numbers painted on them. Note that it is possible for a correctly working machine to randomly select the same set of numbers six

You Can't Lose If You Don't Play
Playing 128 pick 3 numbers the probability of an exact number hit is 12%, 1 in 8.3. This equates to the probability of not hitting to be 1 in 1.14, 88%. If we take the exact odds approach (though unlikely to occur) and assume 1 in every 8 draws will hit playing 128 numbers with a cost of $256 (your example) $2048 will be spent. Offset this by a win of $744 (your example) this leaves a loss of $1304 for the 8 drawing campaign. Your example win of $744 indicates more than just a str

Answer Me This...
A couple of years ago, The Florida Lottery added a midday drawing ... these days the midday drawing offers ... What happened to jackpots immediately after they added the midday drawings? You seem to be telling us what the jackpots were before the change and what the jackpots are a couple of years later. Lottery sales for games that are exactly the same as they were a few years ago are also down. Declining sales is why MM costs $5 now, and likely why FL added midday drawings. It's als

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Yes Sir! Same numbers every week. Most I hit was 3 numbers a couple weeks ago. Won 30 bucks. That's why I don't play the same numbers for a long period of time. Not only because they may never win the jackpot even after 20 years. But even worse, what if the numbers came up on a night that you didn't play? There was a customer who came by the store where I work at, and I can't remember how long he played his numbers. But he missed the drawing when his numbers finally came up. The j
