Power Ball and Mega Millions make the biggest jumps. Jumps or increases are a function of the Play volume (I think). California Super Lotto used to make bigger jumps. Curious to know if the Game Play is down along with the relatively small fixed 1 million jump recently enacted. Which came first?

State taxes - my experience
There has been a lot of discussion in the $1.3 billion Mega Millions jackpot thread about how state taxes are applied. Here is my experience. I am resident of Canada and on two occasions I won a large enough sum in a US lottery to have the tax applied. The state in which I won the prizes had a state lottery tax at the time. Geez, are you dense. There are 302,575,350 different combinations in the Mega Millions game. Any one of those combinations can be drawn every time there is a drawing. Yes, only one can be drawn at a time. But any one of those 302,575,350 can be drawn when there is a drawing. As far as Probability goes, it's not only probable, but absolutely certain one of those 302,575,350 combinations WILL BE DRAWN.

I bought a Mega Millions ticket on Tuesday, marking QP on the white balls and self picking the red ball and it worked. The last few times I played Powerball I bought a full quick pick, tomorrow I will mark QP on the white balls and self pick the red one to see if it still doesn't work. If it doesn't, maybe the clerk can override the slip, I'll post the results either way.
