Look at the history of jackpots for each drawing. When one is hit, the next one starts at 50 Million. Then it increases a minimum of 10 million for each drawing, until it gets hit again. The history show that it is taking a lot more drawings before it starts to increase more than 10M. Compare those numbers to before the changeover to $5 per play. If past drawings had any relevance, then what would it be? This is assuming the lottery isn't using weighted balls, or choosing the winning numbers in advance in a fake drawing. Assuming the drawings are fair, the past results have no bearing on what future results may be. That is the definition of independent random drawing . It's not an opinion. It's a fact. But if the drawings are not fair, then no one should play the game.

It'll pick up in the last week or so. The few days prior to the past drawings, the pace picked up to 5000+ per day. Which still isn't a ton, but it's more than 2000. I imagine that it'll pick up more than that ahead of the final drawing for the big bucks. I think we'll be at around 400,000 sold, unless the last pop ends up being significant. I've been calculating my personal odds with a final figure of 450k, to be safe.
