I know the dictionary definition of gambling but I don't see buying a lottery ticket as a risk, more like entertainment and a wish to win. Buying in st a casino or race track or sports book for a few yards is taking a risk.

Personally I don't knock those that play MM. Everyone has their own reasons for playing or not playing MM, whether it's indignation at paying $5, or the ones that will pay $5 because the jackpot is still life changing. Back in the day when my wife and I were pulling down plenty of money to cover bills and had enough left over for entertainment, I would play all the lottery games. The growth of the MM jackpot has certainly been muted. I'm not surprised in the least as there has been zero hype around the jackpot since it surpassed the $700mm threshold.
