Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
And the sad part is. Most of them are not regular players. I mean I get it. I was probably one of the first moaning and complaining. But they changed it. I have a choice. And I made my choice. I mean. I get it ! The odds are astromical. But where are you gonna get a chance to win hundreds of millions of dollars . If not more. For 5 bucks.? And if you look at it from an entertainment standpoint. Where are you paying 5 bucks for entertainment? Can't even go in a bar with 5 bucks anymore. But I ser

I know the dictionary definition of gambling but I don't see buying a lottery ticket as a risk, more like entertainment and a wish to win. Buying in st a casino or race track or sports book for a few yards is taking a risk.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I'm trying not to @frustrated. I do look at it as my entertainment for the week. I'm getting old so I know longer rip and run the streets. So it's definitely cheaper then being out and about. Thanks for the helpful advice. Good luck! And have a fantastic day!

Buying MM or PB lottery tickets
Thank you Justing618!
I find it fascinating that an arrogant know it all snob like Tucker Black thinks I should spend my entertainment dollars as he recommends. Usually I refrain from telling others how to spend their money, as do most other sensible people that know how to mind their own business. Apparently Elmer doesnt know how to do that.
Most people that play the lottery regularly know the lottery is a suckers bet. I certainly understand that. I stupidly spend my lottery money more

The lottery corporation says that gambling is for entertainment.. Then that make's it more worthwhile. If you buy one ticket or more. And hopefully win a good amount of money. God willing!

Personally I don't knock those that play MM. Everyone has their own reasons for playing or not playing MM, whether it's indignation at paying $5, or the ones that will pay $5 because the jackpot is still life changing. Back in the day when my wife and I were pulling down plenty of money to cover bills and had enough left over for entertainment, I would play all the lottery games. These days I'm pretty stuck on a budget, and that means picking which games to play and which games not to play. To e

is it luckier to buy tickets on the rich side of town?
This is a classic question in sociology and applied economics, and the answer is well-documented by demographic studies and market research in the United States (such as data from the Brookings Institution, the Tax Foundation, and various state lotteries).
The direct answer is: people from all social classes play, but the financial impact, frequency, and motivation are profoundly different between the poorest and the wealthiest.
Here is the breakdown of how lottery consumption

The growth of the MM jackpot has certainly been muted. I'm not surprised in the least as there has been zero hype around the jackpot since it surpassed the $700mm threshold. Usually when a jackpot goes above the $500mm threshold, you see news articles and chatter about it. This time around, nada...
I'm actually wondering what MM will be like once it resets back to $50mm. I can see a day where a jackpot can easily go 8-9 months or even a year without being won due to such little activity. On

I agree. Taking chances in life has zero to do with gambling $. It sounds like you are trying to justify spending perhaps too much money gambling. Playing the lottery is for entertainment purposes only.
Taking chances is about getting that education, going for that promotion, investing for retirement, getting off your behind every day.
I can afford to spend a lot on the lottery but I do not. A.$5 megamillions ticket is not for me. Playing my $1 state cash 5 game when it is high is a good
