I'm going to play Devil's Advocate and say that the correlation between the fake long lost sister trying to scam for insurance money and winning the lottery and moving away is the fact that if someone can try to fake family relations for an insurance scam the same person could try to scam for lottery money by faking family relations which is why moving to an undisclosed location after winning the lottery is needed.

Thanks but it is really a gender neutral issue. If a stranger is offering you something free out of the blue that is of a personal nature, it might be a scam as well. Best to always say no and not be an easy mark.
