A good method is to play several 50 cent box bets to offest taxes you will pay at the end of the year on a 1099. Also, save ALL scatch off tickets and losing mega, numbers, lotto etc, tickets, they can be written off towards what you won with the 1099. You just can't write off more than you lost.
