Cheated winner wants Texas Lottery to pay up
I'm sure the TLC had complaints in the past about clerks cheating players so they should have done a more thorough investigation before paying off. Joshi was a student at the University of Texas at Arlington, I doubt if he told them he also worked at the store that sold the lottery ticket. It's not unusual for a student his age to buy a lottery ticket.

$200,000 Powerball prize awarded on day lottery ticket was set to expire
I, too, have some old tickets I haven't checked yet. And considering that NC claims are less than a year, I really need to check them more often. Usually they are ones from when we are traveling and my hubby buys one (which is unusual) and then it ends up mixed in the receipt drawer (which he hasn't cleared in months).

Washington lottery winner claims jackpot anonymously
Not everyone wants to become a target. Why would it be unusual to claim it anonymously? I definately would. You gotta find me first!

Power outage has California lottery running on back-up generators
Funny, but the California Lottery gaming system is run out of GTECH's National Data Center in Austin, TX. I don't even know if they televise the SL+ draw any more...but in any case they don't do that out of thew HQ building. The only major system running at the Lottery HQ is their internal control system (ICS). Still, highly unusual for power to be out that long. Wouild have thought that the State would have some kind of agreement with PG E (or SMUD) for priority restoration of service.

Will robber get to keep lottery jackpot?
And robbers are what..... shmart? I think he may have a good defense that it is cruel and unusual punishment to forbid someone to play the Lottery.

Does $9 goof point to larger problems with Ontario Lottery?
There needs to be a system to deal with barcodes that can't be read. I know every one here has encountered that while checking out at a store at some point. That could easily explain why a clerk might enter some numbers and not scan a ticket. That there's much chance that the number entered will match a different ticket if it's entered incorrectly is a problem. There's a reason that credit card numbers are long enough that every single person on the planet could have 100,000 credit cards witho

Having a lottery machine: Now that's the ticket
RJ >I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to purchase tickets if they weren't on the original roll of tickets. There are plenty of stores in MI that sell individual instant tickets all the time, because they keep them in their register drawer. Also, we have plenty of party stores that hang strips - in fact I would say it is unusual to be buying from a roll. Can't remember the last time I saw a roll. The article said $4,000 - figured that was a $5,000 full face value?Oops, read it wrong -
