British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
The results of the last six presidential elections show which states will likely vote Democrat or Republican. Wyoming voted Republican by over 65% in the last five and Maryland voted Democrat by over 55%. Why would you think either state will change in this election? If people aren't happy they will change things regardless of the party. Maryland now has a Republican governor, only the second since the 1960's. Mainly because the last gov. Martin O'Malley, raised taxes, tolls, and fees 83 time

British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
Donald Trump Attacks Republicans Who Dare to Play Down His 'Rigged' Election Rhetoric: donald trump's unsubstantiated claims of a fraudulent election process have created a problem not only for members of his own party but also even for his own ticket. While the Republican presidential nominee railed against alleged rigging or a rigged election more than 20 times this weekend, some of his fellow Republicans starting with his running mate are trying to tamp down the rhetoric. Indiana lottery ticket wins $540 million Mega Millions jackpot
. Mr./Ms. PickToWin, I think many/most of us can relate to your frustration. I often think I'm the most vulnerable, of anyone, anywhere. But yeah, I agree. Especially, when there are potentially 7.3 billion people who were competing for the prize. But, it happened. No one else duplicated the winning number, besides Indiana. So, I too have had that sour feeling in my stomach since around 12:50am, this morning. I didn't even want breakfast this morning. I certainly don't ne

Audit: Stores buying Michigan lottery tickets from players
You keep saying the retailers didn't report their winnings, but their winnings were reported to the IRS on a W2-G when they cashed the tickets. It's pretty obvious some didn't buy all the tickets just based on the volume, but it doesn't prove they bought them at a discount so someone could avoid back taxes, child support or whatever. And you're correct, it's not complicated because there is no W2-G issue on tickets valued undered $601 and without a paper trail impossible for the Michigan a

Indiana store clerk in trouble for buying lottery ticket
I wish they would do this to all clerks in all states. They shouldn't be allowed to play. On the claim form for PA it asks: Are you related to anyone who works for the PA Lottery? We as claimants have to disclose that piece of info and if it turned out we were related, that would raise the suspicion bar 10 feet. Why isn't a bar in place for the clerks who sell the tickets, pay out the winnings, scan the codes and have access to all tickets - losers and unscratched - and keep track

COMPUTERIZED DRAWING GLITCH STRIKES ARIZONA LOTTERY
Legions of people like me? Like If I protest, they'll listen to me? I know one thing... If legions of people like you go along with the program like a herd of sheep and never object to the corruption, it'll only serve to perpetuate the intransigence on the part of the political hacks running the lotteries. If they think a large enough percentage of us are willing to put up with it and merely complain about peripheral concerns like pre-draws and such, they'll never change anything. We'

Hair stylists spar over $9.5M Hoosier Lotto jackpot
There is a developing prize fight over a $9.5 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot. An Indianapolis, Indiana, hair stylist says she won it all, but her co-workers say they pooled their money to buy the winning ticket, and they should split it. Now that jackpot is frozen until further notice. Eight stylists from an east side hair salon were feeling lucky when they chipped in on a work pool last week. One of those stylists bought the tickets for the group and then tickets for herself. When those wi

£84.4M Euro Millions lottery jackpot claimed anonymously
The problem with having security is that you have to trust them with too much information. Part of the validation process is in verifying that the winning ticket was bought at the store that had the winning ticket, so the lottery has to have that information available. The trick is in tracking the winning tickets and being able to access that information, but not having that information acessed improperly. The actual details will vary, but it would go something like this. Rolls with high valu
