Players warned lottery about tickets flaw
Posted by Uncle Jim 5. The Tennessee Lottery blamed the vendor for the problem. But read the vendor's statement carefully. They claim they tested it and it was working when it left them. The problem occured when it went on line in Tennessee. So what really happened? Did the vendor make a programming error? Or did something change between the time it left the vendor and went on line? Remember it was tested and presumably certified by the vendor and by an outside consultant and then agai

Tennessee Lottery threatens to go computerized
I would like to see some figures somewhere about how much revenue is lost when a state goes RNG. It doesn't seem to have affected WI at all since 2004 when they switched. I don't know of any complaints by our LC that revenue is dropping. If anything, with the price of gasoline so high, what is suffering is the impulse sales in the convenience stores...where people would by a drink or a snack, they are cutting back on those before they cut back on their lottery tickets. Frankly, I think the

Cancer claims life of man who exposed Ontario Lottery retailer fraud
He called the corporation's customer complaints department "rude and inept." ....... I think that is probably a media nicety. "I cannot provide any insight to this house for what actions were taken or not taken . . . who made the decision to drag Bob Edmonds through the courts and treat him so disrespectfully," he said. You could have helped him instead of letting them treat him so disrespectfully. Just because it wasn't your decision doesn't mean you had to sit on the sidelines an

Tenn. Lottery forced to reveal harassment records
Records made public yesterday by a Nashville judge indicated that sexual harassment led to the firing of Steve Adams, the former No. 2 official at the Tennessee Lottery. Before the decision in the lawsuit brought by The NashvillePost.com, the nature of the workplace harassment was unclear. The document, a Jan. 5 letter that Adams received, confirmed the reason for his termination as the lottery's chief administrative officer. We can't operate in an environment where our employees or vendors are a

Scientific Games appeals N.J. Lottery's award to GTECH
Overbid by nearly $32 million in its unsuccessful attempt to get the state's lottery contract, Scientific Games filed a protest Tuesday claiming officials skewed the bid proposals to keep its current operator.Earlier this month, the state announced its plans to give GTech Corp., the current lottery operator, a new five-year contract, even though it wasn't the low bidder. The state justified the decision by saying GTech offered a more secure and reliable system and outscored Scientific Games on a

N.C. Lottery commissioner resigns
A message to the N.C. lottery commissioners:Don't go overboard responding to all these noisy arguments and complaints from anti-lottery people and/or social engineering types. There is going to be a lot of heat surrounding your new lottery for the next year, and you're just going to have to live with it.The worst thing you can do is to overreact to these loudmouths and know-it-alls, and screw up the guidelines or rules. It is very hard to later undo any rules you put in place to placate these

$100,000 lottery ticket claim goes to court
An administrative law judge is considering the claim by two Indiana men that they are the rightful owners of a $100,000 lottery ticket that was tossed in the trash.Judge Gregg Henry said he would rule within two months after hearing 6 1/2 hours of testimony Wednesday. Ownership of the ticket has been in dispute as it was put into a trash can at the Chaperral Cafe in Shelbyville, Indiana on Feb. 8 after a clerk told Ron Douglas and Ron Vinson that the $5 ticket was not the $40 winner they were ho

Powerball Lottery States Vote to Change Game
thank's tony95 i'm glad you see things in the same manners as i do. it's really interesting how people react to dvents that are not predictable. The different state lottery's that have mega and powerball probably went through every different senerio about people winning the games at different levels. They probably had think tanks go through many days of banter about what if and how they might respond to various gaming situations of their games. One of their biggest problems is the peoples reactio
