Struggling couple wins $10M lottery jackpot
I think anybody who plays the lottery in Australia has to be registered with the government and they give you a card or something to swipe everytime you play. Probably rules out a lot of potential problems but I don't like giving the government anymore info about me than absolutely necessary. Especially the government we have now. The less they know about me, the better I like it.

Minnesota Lottery suspended during government shutdown
Thanks Jade, I wonder if those government paychecks will shut down also, will the government workers also have to turn in the government cars? I think the lottery is self sustaining and pays for itself, shoudn't need to be shut down, this is clearly a power play in politics, designed to point blame and gain popularity.

$116M Georgia Powerball winner claims prize
Hey, Todd... I actually don't identify as a moderate or a centrist... But, I also don't fall easily on one side of the line or not(perception acknowledged... but, it's an interesting point you raise. b/c for me, the perception is that anything left of extreme right often gets labeled as too liberal , liberal, socialist, etc, etc). I think (in the current climate) many of these labels (conservative, liberal, etc) are counter-productive. b/c it seems to do little more than allow people to label so

Lottery hoax causes riot at Ohio coat store
They respected state's rights over federal dominance That's true as written, but I'm not sure if what you wrote reflects your intended meaning. The Constitution was intended to limit the power of the federal government and make sure it couldn't trample state rights, but it was also intended to restrict state's rights. The result is a document that over time has done a fairly good job of balancing power between the states and the federal government. To trash the Constitution because a sm

Feds freeze online poker champ's winnings
Federal officials order banks to freeze millions in online poker winnings On the Sunday before Memorial Day, David made the big time. Winning $10,000 in an online poker tournament made him eligible for the upcoming World Series of Poker, the game's premier event, where hundreds of players amateur and professional descend on Las Vegas from around the world to play for a multimillion-dollar pot. To register, he simply had to cash a check cut by a company that processed payments for the po

As Fla. lottery sales slow, schools stand to lose
I guess the crooks in government, called politicians, forgot that the original concept of the lottery was to support education, not replace it. Having said that, they immediately started not providing funds for education. Remember the tobacco fiasco? The states were supposed to help smokers stop smoking. Instead they started spending like $10M lottery winners - stupidly! Tobacco money is gone, so the state government started raising taxes to support their habit of spending money. Now that people

California Lottery official fired for taking 'bonus' from hotel
People will lose confidence in government if they think that employees are benefiting from government decisions they are making, Stern said when informed of Leeson's firing funny the state government of calafornia saying no one is to benifit from their decicisions ...but political figures benifit all the time ask the Vice president of the United States, and his contracts in Iraq and for crime ask him how he got off shooting someone in the face

Online gambling executive arrested on state charges
If the U.S. really wanted to stop on-line gambling, they would treat on-line gamblers like any other criminals and put them in jail. The government monitor the Internet to catch other criminals, pedophiles, terrorists and the likes, so they know who's breaking the laws by gambling on line. When gamblers who go on-line start during jail time along side other criminals, they will be happy to limit their gambling to state/government approved lotteries and casinos that pay taxes. Maybe in the

Man sues S.C. Lottery, claiming the state is misleading ticket buyers
Agree, thus, when they get caught, they should be subject to the same penalties. When Enron executives do something wrong and people loose money, the Government goes after Enron executives with the full force that every tax penny can afford. In this case, those loosing money only have one recourse; lawsuit. It's time the people remember who the forefathers died for; the people - NOT the government. The government has spent centuries making themselve into power and money hungry entities. They

N.C. resident speaks out against computerized lottery drawings
Are you certain MI uses balls for Pick 3 and Pick 4? I've been operating/playing under incorrect notions then...I had thought that MI was using RNG for all of their drawings. I pretty much had stayed clear of MI for that reason on P3 and P4.In the end though, I guess its not so much whether one can find trends in RNG games (seems like they show there as much as in the manual games) but its the potential for abuse/rigging that the game operators have at their disposal that is the problem.
