Minnesota Lottery confirms technical communications error delayed $2 billion Powerball drawing
What about when the numbers were being drawn on Tuesday,, After the second ball popped up the ball lady stops to make a congratulatory announcement, clearly disrupting the flow of the drawing. Her action changed the outcome of the drawing result. If she didn't interrupt the draw the result would have been different .

Mega Millions host calls wrong winning number during broadcast
The announcement of wrong numbers is not a legal issue and was a short lived error in the ordinary course of business. The tickets are bearer instruments. The lottery had no real obligation here. I bet they would not have volunteered to pay if a jp was won.

NJ Lottery announces new evening draw times and other changes
Apologies, Todd. It had many of the elements from the press announcement posted on the NJ Lottery website. I sought to add the context of why the change was made and what it means to us players in New Jersey. I'll be more mindful in the future comments about your articles.

Coronavirus begins to impact lottery industry
I just noticed that I missed the last line of the announcement for Delaware. Says they still will have one office open in Dover. I guess I got so peeved about them asking us to mail in tickets that stopped readed. But the way it reads its almost like they WANT players to think they can only mail them.

$1 BILLION MEGA MILLIONS LOTTERY DRAWING TONIGHT
Remember how long it took in 2016 for Powerball? I think it was somewhere around 2:30 am when people learned of the 3 jackpot winners. (And Powerball tends to be quicker to get the announcement out than Mega Millions.) I imagine the volume of data for some of the smaller states is harder to deal with.

$654 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot skyrockets
If the winner can get their ( his/her is grammatically correct, but I'll use their since it sounds less clunky, lol) ducks in a row in time, they can turn in their ticket a couple of days before the election, that way the announcement would be stifled by all the shouting and politicking!

$570 MILLION: Powerball sales surge prompts jackpot increase
Okay, maybe it will stick. I saw a msg on usamega that someone in NH won and posted it on here. I then noticed that it was only a few minutes past 9 pm pst and thought it was too early for results and double checked. The usamega announcement was gone so I deleted my comment here.

Illinois lottery winners file class-action lawsuit against state
Just saw the news about the Illinois lottery and the announcement that any winnings over $600 can no longer be immediately paid. They will be issuing I.O.U.'s but with interest. With current interest rates at 0.25% I doubt any big winners In that state will be too thrilled.

Mega Millions multi-state lottery to get harder to win in Oct.
I noticed Tuesday MM jackpot went from $12M to $15M instead of its normal $13M. Could it be that this announcement that the good old day of easy picking will end in October be causing players to spend more before they end?

Maryland Lottery officials inundated with Mega Millions rumors
lol My guess would be that someone in his office saw it (maybe another attorney, paralegal) so they can save all the official info for the announcement tomorrow (and not take away from that).
