Yahoo files suit against 'lottery' spammers
If life was a television show, they could find the criminals through an IP search, try them, and sent them off to jail, all within 42 minutes! All we need is sponsors and we could eliminate all crime. Just like on Law and Order, give up all the freedoms of the Constitution, and the police will solve every crime known to man Fight the police and it turns into a two part episode! Bless the sheep!

Teen wins $35 million Powerball lottery jackpot
Aside from drug arrest, crime for the most part has been for the most part on the decline for the last couple decades with homocide rates at the lowest since the 60s. Though non-fatal gun crime was on the rise as of 2005 or 2006, but admittedly the data I'm looking at only has to do with reported crime and is a bit old so that might changing recently and either risen more or dropped, I doubt it's skyrocketed to where it's beyond what it was a decade ago and yeah I'm know there are areas where cr

I'd like to know how many teens under eighteen are actually buying/trying to buy Lottery Tickets in the absense of Government Entrapment Teens. Law Enforcement may have uncovered a Crime where their is No Crime! It's also alot Safer busting Lottery Agents than Drug Dealers and Gangs.

E! Television to air 'Curse of the Lottery' Sunday
I feel bad for the guy, this is the dumbest act I have ever heard of. If he gets 5 1/2 years, hopefully he will be out in 1-2 years (likely, being a non-violent offender). It will teach him a lesson and let everyone know this type of crime is unacceptable. After all, isn't this grand, grand, grand larseny. Why isn't this grand larceny? Interesting that so many people are feeling sorry for a thief. It's also puzzling that some members here don't think it's as serious as stealing a ca

Woman sentenced to life in prison for slaying of lottery winner
Unlike stealing the winning ticket of a customer which is a non-violent crime, this one here is a really VIOLENT crime, which shows the depravity of the perpetrator. She has complete disregard for human life. I have no problem with this person going to jail. Maybe prison life will change her for the better.

US House on the brink of taking away online gambling rights
Gamblers who prefer their laptops to blackjack tables won't like what Congress is doing. On Tuesday, the House plans to vote on a bill that would ban credit cards for paying online bets and could padlock gambling Web sites. The legislation would clarify existing law to spell out that it is illegal to gamble online. To enforce that ban, the bill would prohibit credit cards and other payment forms, such as electronic transfers, from being used to settle online wagers. It also would give la

UK pals jailed for winning £4 million in lottery using stolen debit card
The winnings are proceeds of a crime , so the State can seize the prize... (the idea being that a criminal shouldn't benefit from their crime, In New Zealand, a person stole lots of money (received government benefits he wasn't entitled to IIRC) over many years and invested it in international stocks and gold. He made a lot of money doing that... When he was caught, the State took everything he couldn't prove wasn't funded by his crime..) So, maybe the State gets the winning ticket :)

Woman's winning lottery ticket rescued from trash by brother
You don't have to give an occupation, but you can make it look like you have one. Well I am pretty familiar with the ethics codes for attorneys and one cannot act in furtherance of a crime and if you suspect your client in committing a crime, you have an obligation to resign from the case. I find it difficult to believe the attorneys, since their conversations would have been privileged, did not ask who was the actual ticket holder. The lottery officials continued to press for questions to be
