Iowa Lottery blames "human reporting error" for posting incorrect Powerball results
Players who claimed prizes under wrong numbers can keep their winnings By Kate Northrop The Iowa Lottery attributed posting the wrong Powerball numbers on their website for Monday's draw to a human reporting error and told players who already redeemed prizes that they can keep the winnings. Several hours after the wrong Powerball numbers were posted on the Iowa Lottery's website the night of the drawing on Mon., Nov. 27, the Lottery removed the incorrect sequence and republished the

California winner of $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot is lauded as kind family man by neighbors
Took MUSL a long time (as I tossed and turned) to announce that Mega Millions jackpot will be $977 million Friday. Speaking for many LP members, if not all, that we know it'll jump up over $1 Billion for Friday.

Virginia man who won $1,000 a week lottery prize in Cash4Life says it's just "good"
Lucky for Life is now MUSL drawn on RNG in Iowa. I believe they changed from Connecticut RNGs to Iowa RNGs around September this year. There really wasn't a big announcement.

Iowa Lottery blames "human reporting error" for posting incorrect Powerball results
How would they pay the WRONG numbers? So they are saying a human ENTERS the winning numbers into their system, which would then explain how they paid the wrong numbers. I guess I thought MUSL would send each state systems the numbers electrically so their system would not be able to pay the wrong numbers.

$1.55 BILLION: Biggest Mega Millions jackpot ever to be drawn Tuesday
Ticket sales for Powerball and Mega Millions were slowing prior to the pandemic. The pandemic gave them an excuse to lower the starting amount to $20 mill. And, they no longer have to guarantee a minimum bump between draws. Prior to the pandemic it was $5 mill for Mega, and $10 mill for Powerball. Now that they've made the change, they aren't able to change it back unless all states that participate in the MUSL also agree to the change.

UPDATE: Proposed changes to Mega Millions game will raise ticket price to $5
Bottom line...they know they will lose a percentage of players but also know some of those won't be able to stay away when jackpots skyrocket, and they know that there are hardcore players who will keep playing every draw regardless of the cost of a ticket. MUSL might take a hit in players cutting back and/or quitting, but will make up for it as time goes on.

$1.23 BILLION: Powerball jackpot juggernaut keeps rolling
The Saturday jackpot was raised to $1.3 billion , with a cash option of $608.9 million . I'm wondering if they managed a typo for the cash value. If the cash:annuity ratio stayed the same it would be $628.9 million cash. If it's really $6 0 8.9 that's a pretty big change in interest rates, and a fairly big coincidence that the difference is an even $20.0 million. The TX website hasn't posted the worksheet yet, but that should give us the answer if MUSL doesn't make a change first.

$1.2 BILLION: Powerball jackpot is 3rd-largest in game history
Yes, it's Idaho. They call it bundling for your convenience as though that makes it better. I believe that Montana has also begun bundling the powerball. I wish MUSL didn't allow that. If you're gonna raise the price, just raise it nationwide instead of trying to manipulate players.

UPDATE: Proposed changes to Mega Millions game will raise ticket price to $5
Maybe reading way too much into this so someone enlighten me. I thought MUSL was in Iowa, so what does Montana have to do with this? Not like they're a big lottery playing state IMHO. Yeah, stopped @ the lotto machine and didn't play. Felt very ambivalent about it. It's kind of like the slot machines I play, if you don't get a bonus or do anything comes up you feel defeated. Simple psychology which the lottery folks allege to understand but don't. People know the risks BUT they do l
