Virginia Lottery retailers refuse to sell tickets to draw attention to skill games amendment
I agree that all opinions are valid, which is why I also added that what I wrote is my opinion. The part that I believe is fact is the state's motivation.

You should see what it looks like in an actual casino. That guy x 1000. No need to punish a small business and reward a giant business by ensuring their monopoly. Just my opinion.

N.C. doctor to use $757,000 lottery win to support his campaign for U.S. Congress seat
While I appreciate his service, my opinion of politics and politicians these days is so low I view any money thrown towards the process as wasted. I have greater hope of winning a jackpot myself than any politician actually making a positive change.

Virginia Lottery retailers refuse to sell tickets to draw attention to skill games amendment
So gambling with the lottery is OK, but gambling with a skill game is not? Many times I have seen people scratch games at the counter, buy more, scratch more, buy more, etc. I don't see any distinction between that and pressing buttons on a screen repeatedly. Seeing a distinction between those two things is where I think it turns from a logical debate into a debate on personal choices and of opinion. That's where I draw the line. I don't like arbitrarily preventing people from making choices in

Mega Millions and Powerball offer $1.11 billion in combined lottery jackpots
Yes - the 47% is pathetic, in my opinion. Considering how much they rake in? And for all in favor of the 5-dollar line - no thanks.

$1.3 billion Mega Millions lottery winner's family sues him for not sharing jackpot
Artist makes some really good points above. Brock Lee also made an interesting point he split the prize with a gf who isn't his baby mama . Db101 added further clarification the most plausible explanation is that they went halvsies (with gf) on purchasing some tickets for that drawing. Lotteries split prizes among members of lottery pools all the time, whether it's a pool of 2 or 20 .. That gf's existence is irrelevant to the story here My take is unless plaintiffs can prove John Doe did not hav

An opinion Todd. We all have opinions and I live in the state. It is an amendment to a senate bill so it is legislative. We can buy lottery tickets online here and the vending machines are in grocery stores so the store owners are pushing their luck here. The store owners are free to protest of course but with all the convenience style stores close together, I really doubt too many are hurting financially. It is a we want even more money as store owners. The average convenience store gr

North Carolina 18-year-old wins $1 million in lottery after asking sister to buy ticket for him
Some say one should only spend a years worth of take home salary on a new car. He can get a 2025 Subaru or other decent hybrid luxury/budget vehicle with a take home pay of $35k a year from winnings that would still last when the last check arrives in 2043. $100/day 4 Twenty Years is not a lot of money to be spending on an Audi and it's collateral costs (high insurance rates, exotic tax, rare parts that are expensive, higher car problems than other luxury car brands, increased chance of traffic
