Help with understanding formula
Morning all, I've discovered a PDF file that has intrigued me. The problem is that I don't understand what all of the symbols mean or how to write them into computer language formulas . I'm not a mathmatician nor a computer science guy. Does anyone out there have the knowledge to assist with this? Examples from the PDF I'm looking at: A significance test of the null hypothesis H0 : Θ0 against the alternative hypothesis H1 : Θ1 is based on an observable test statistic T

how to use the standard deviation in lottery 01 to 25 where 15 numbers are drawn?
hello, It gives error Note that standard deviation is the square root of the variance. So the formula below is incomplete.

Vortex Math Nikola Tesla
Hey cottoneyedjoe, some explanations for our esteemed, mysterious, and out of the box Nikola Tesla, was a visionary extrordinare capable of access data from a invisible but existing anomaly field of information that surrounds us all - just as young Mozart downloaded his musical scores, without error, dictated from non-terrestrial sources; his original manuscripts, without correcting crosscuts, are on public view in Vienna. Perhaps: Tesla was his own frequency generator??? Thanks in advance

My Method: A linear congruential generator picker
Of all the #$!!** I was getting wacky results from my VBA program and after several days of de-bugging, I finally found the culprit . . . I had several equations typed-in backwards ! It was in the subroutine that calculates the average error and standard deviation between X1 values for a given Seed Increment versus the actual draws . I went through and re-checked all my subroutines and I'm good, so I'm back in business and testing various scenarios.

My Method: A linear congruential generator picker
garyo1954, I'm still testing the crap out of this, and this phrase from your post sums up what I found so far: The bigger problem is your 4 digit combination. Just because you find the highest producing set doesn't guarantee its are going to hit . What you've stated is exactly what I've found so far. For example, for a given two year (730 draw) window for Connecticut Pick 3, and a given M, A, and C, I identify a list of the best Seeds, i.e. the Seeds that produce the most exact matches when e

"Statistical Sampling" Question
What you want is called a chi-squared test. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chi-squared_test I could walk you through how to calculate the error and its statistical significance for a specific set of data, but if you are more mathematically inclined than average you can probably figure it out on your own from the wiki article and other sources. It's built-in to Excel I believe. Edit: More specific article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearson%27s_chi-squared_test

"Statistical Sampling" Question
Hi all! I have a Statistical Sampling -type question. I have an event for which I assume P = 1/9, and I've taken N measurements to try and determine if P is in fact 1/9. My question is this: what is the relationship between N and the error band around the measured P? What I'm doing is a long and convoluted story, but in a nutshell, I'm looking at data that shows a particular Pick 3 strategy likes certain Root Sums more than others, and I'm trying to convince myself that this is (or is not) an

Hi MillionsWanted The ML.NET program is available for download. I downloaded it and installed it but unfortunately I get an error when try to train model start prediction. It comes up Unhandled exception has occurred in your ap application. I uninstalled redownloaded and reinstalled but same problem. Has anyone else tried the program yet? Tried several input files to no avail. GW
