I like your algebra solution. What made this one hard and not intuitive, for me at least, is that you know the prob of rolling snake eyes in 1 roll is 1/36, and the prob of rolling 7s back to back in 2 rolls is also 1/36, so it feels like it should be fair. But you know it can't be because having to do something twice in a row is harder

Also, sound coming from a source that's approaching you has its waves compressed giving it a higher pitch then when it's departing from you stretching out its waves which gives it a lower pitch. A good example of this if you've ever gone to the Indy 500 time trials and stood in snake pit near the track and listened to the pitch of the car engines as they approach and depart from near your position at 180+ mph.

Based on his writing style and delusions of grandeur, I'm surprised he doesn't use the word humbug because snake oil is a liquid concoction of questionable medical value.
