Jackpot if no one wins tonight
If nobody matches all six numbers tonight, the Mega Millions jackpot will jump to an astonishing $380 million dollars the largest jackpot in U.S. history! The previous highest jackpot was a $363 million prize for the Big Game in May of 2000. This was taken from the Michigan Lottery's website press release about the increase in the MM jackpot.

Thanks for pointing that out. That is the all-time record. The previous record was $180 million for the May 2000 draw of the Big Game that set the annuity record jackpot of $363 million.

Powerball jackpots
I hope that PB will roll when no ticket wins this Wednesday. That way, the North American jackpot record held by Mega Millions [formerly The Big Game] will be shattered by PB of previous record of 363 million.Everyone, this is a poll question that will last until PB finally hits the jackpot.

I looked it up on cnn and the cash value when the big game was at 350 million was 114 or when it hit an estimated 366 (later finalized at 363) the cash prize was 173.1 million. So only a 3.1 million cash difference between what Jack won and the record jackpot as far as the cash prizes are concerned.

For the Big Game/Megamillions the record is 3, having occurred twice, April 16, 2002, when the jackpot was advertised at $325,000,000, and April 4, 1997, when the jackpot was advertised as 78.8M.

Mega Millions did not set a new 15 roll record for the Sept 16 draw at $250 million. The Mega Millions record is $294 million. The 15 roll record for Powerball is $221.5 million.Ths draw did tie the Mega Millions record for the most number of rolls at 15. The record jump is the old Big Game which went up $143 million to $363 in a single draw (May 9, 2000). There were two winners.
