lola23,I'm interested to learn why the tax issue is so important to you.To answer your question, UK Lotto, Euro Millions, and El Gordo (as offered by the services on the left side of the page) do not have taxes withheld. That's because they are bought in the UK and Spain, which do not subtract taxes from lottery prizes.That is not to say that your particular country will not withhold taxes if you bring the money into your country.The US lotteries would have US government taxes withheld - normal

Since I only do local lotteries I do all the brainstorming and buying tickets myself and don't need partners. Lotteries like Euro Millions, even when its jackpot is $200M+ never get my interest. Doesn't China have any lotteries? I would think once you've come up with answers to win a foreign lottery, you would want to try it on a local one too. Well, keep on brainstorming, that way if you ever get a chance to play you'll be ready. Good luck.

Are the rules different if the foreigner is a temporary resident of that country? Would it be wrong of me to assume that if I was a temporary resident of one of these countries, such as a student or relocated because of employment then I could play Euro Millions?

Mexico taxes lottery winnings? If so I'm surprised it hasn't come up, since Mexico borders the US. Somebody should do a thread on what countries tax lottery winnings. I know the US and Jamaica do. I recently saw that Poland used to but was pressured by the EU to stop (possibly as a condition to eventually join Euro Millions?)
