I have developed a method to play Jackpot Games.
Alrighty then! This may be purely coincidence, I'll have a better idea after I do some more backtesting. This pertains to Igor's method as applied to Pick 3.
Here's what happened: as I was fiddling with my Pick 3 spreadsheet that automatically does the accounting of numbers and identifies the numbers that go in each bucket (001/Green, 002/Blue, 003/Orange), I stumbled upon a way to pick numbers for the next drawing that, for the whole 5 minutes I backtested it, was giving me this has GOT

powerball announcer ranges...
after some quick backtesting it appears that there are more HITS than misses, but not enough HITS to make it a good guideline...back to the drawing board....

Texas Lotto
Spot on. The raw odds don't lie. Most people just burn money chasing individual picks blindly. That's why backtesting past densities and filtering out statistically trash combinations is the only way to play smart, even if it's just to minimize the damage lol.

Pencil and Paper Jackpot Calculations
I'm not sure just how much value there is in backtesting. While I wouldn't totally dismiss it, I don't think that lottery draws are predictable to the degree that backtesting will prove or disprove the value of any system. While I see the number draw methods of most jackpot games as being random, I think there are certain streaks, trends, and averages that manifest along the way. With a certain measure of luck and some insight into these phenomena, I think that most any system will yield some po

POLL: Split PB history by day of week?
It's all about the careful count of dvents... The concept of splitting wednesday vs. saturday data will not bring anyone any closer to a prediction system, but I definitely see the possibilities for a trapping system....It is still just a concept, not even an associated Excel sheet yet, but if it works out favorably in backtesting, I will create a wednesday-only wheel, possibly eliminating saturday play altogether (or at least when the Jackpot is low)...

PB Drawing for Saturday 03-06-04
well, backtesting may not be a good choice because of the influence knowing the results can have, but if you just keep your data for each new drawing... then see how far off it was....Don't forget that you can search out some of your old posts to fill in the gaps without unintentionally skewing the data....good luck

PB Drawing for Wednesday 12/17/03
Quote: Originally posted by hypersoniq on December 16, 2003 backtesting has been less than stellar ( if you played the mode since draw one of the new matrix, you wouldn't have made as much as you spent)I'm officially an idiot, I never backtested for out of position matches... apparently the corrected mode would have matched $5000 on the 17th draw of 5/53 + 1/42... doh!Now I need to rework some excel magic to test for out of position matches in ALL the old systems... any ideas?
