Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Well I know the feeling, I don't make a lot to begin with, so doing any extracurricular activities has to be thought out very well, but when it comes to the lottery, that's a task a half, nobody plays to lose, so when we do play we're all looking for a nice win, when we don't get one we try to keep hope alive by playing more, over the last week I've lost about $600 on various lottery games, I also play the daily games, the way that the lottery is structured is for them to always be on the upswin

You're able to write off losses up to your winnings. My understanding is that you can get back up to the amount they withheld from you (and that you owe) if you have enough in losses to write it off at a 1:1 ratio. If you were to claim a $2M gambling losses deduction, your ass would be getting audited lol. I think you are in a pretty good position to hunt for another jackpot since you have that tax incentive. Make sure you request receipts from retailers whenever you play, and have some

You're absolutely right. I feel like such an idiot. I won $500 five times on $20 Gold Rush within the past week, and the $1k win on Florida Cash. What do I have to show from my winnings? Maybe $300 left over in profit from that, and 800+ entries for the next Flamingo Multiplier drawing. I literally burned through all that profit buying Florida Cash, and Gold Rush duds. I think I have a gambling problem addiction. I threw my debit card underneath my bed, and I wont be allowed to

No More
I may be in the minority but I'm suspect of someone who joins a lottery forum about a month ago to primarily discuss his issues with gambling. If it were me, I'd be seeking help on a site that actually offers assistance and guidance to those who think they may have a problem with gambling. I certainly wouldn't go on an instant scratch off lottery forum message board! I've said this before and I'll say it again, for the last time: based on the op's responses to others who have tried to assi

I don't think you're taking this as seriously as most would if they went broke to the point of impending homelessness after a gambling loss. If you're really serious about seeking help, it's out there. The fact that you recently became a member and have posted primarily about your gambling problems is a sign of one who is indirectly asking for help. That's a good start. Best to move on from the 'woe is me' posts and reconsider your priorities. Good luck to you.

Yes, I've been to that part of Orange County and it is ghetto. Based on stereotypes, its fits your description and presumptions. Overall, she displayed a behvaior known as Complusive Gambling Disorder which is not uncommon amongst gamblers. This windfall will likely cause her to spend over her head. I think the gambling theory is a tax on the stupid rather than the poor. It does make people look stupid by wasting money if they lose, but I'll never say that to anyone. I will still play, I will

Hi dr65 - what's said in the pulpit isn't always practiced. Gambling addiction is tough to conquer. AA states they have around a 5% cure ratio. He is different - because he is a pathological addicted gambler. You said you are a person in the know who seems to have it. I challenge you to explain what you mean and why you buy so many tickets. I'm not picking on you dr65 - maybe you have information that can help a lot of us who are addicted to gambling. And don't say it's private You are anonym

Hi, allowselftowin - sorry you aren't having much luck, either. It was 11 in a row losers. Finally a $5 on #031 and a $4 on #034. We're devoted enough that yes, I think we've earned the right to complain. Gambling is gambling. But it can also get to a level that is very demoralizing when it's like I've seen. Last year I got so many more $100s and 3 $200s. This year the $100s are way down with 1 $200 winner. I played the 24k tickets at Giant. But the beer store hasn't been that good either lat

Deducting lottery losses
I'm sure a lawyer or accountant will be along any minute now, and you probably already know this: You can't deduct any more than your winnings, so if you are at a net loss, there is nothing to report. But in the case that you did have any wins over $600 then the lottery would report them for you, so you would then have to prove that it is not net profit/income. From IRS: You may deduct gambling losses only if you itemize deductions. However, the amount of losses you deduct may not be mo
