Travel by Missouri Lottery employees under scrutiny
Traveling lottery officials is very common and nice to see an article draw this to attention. I know there are some directors who spend more than half their time giving presentations or attending these 'development' seminars. Makes me wonder why they are director, if they are never at the commission to direct operations?

Maine lottery scratch tickets may get new controversial name
Hum, Gerry Reid, director of the Maine Bureau Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations, and his naming thinktank must be a bunch of idiots. Plus, even paid a lot for commercials to be made, using the negative slang word! Guess that's what's required to be, or remain, a high-paid employed these last two decades, too many employees must be watching the cruder, non-caring reality shows!

Assemblywoman wants N.J. lottery drawings back on TV
They are being used for NJTV. The way the deal was structured, the four stations that used to be NJN are now being run by PBS flagship WNET (Channel 13, which is licensed to Newark but operates out of New York City) under an operating agreement, instead of being directly run by the state, but the state still owns the stations and their licenses. Essentially, the state contracted the operations to a new division within Thirteen's non-profit foundation. (They also run Long Island's WLIW, channel 2

Baltimore feds target Internet gambling sites
I'm sure that's some of it, but the real motivation behind what the Feds decide to do is two-fold: They want wins and they want those wins to be supporting their political agenda. The wins are important to the troops who investigate and carry out the operations, because they are career workers. The political agendas are important to the people authorizing the operations: the political appointees of the administration. The priority for things they decide to go after are set from the highes

What Does It Take To Win (Mathematically Speaking?)
RJOH - The public motive behind government involvement in lotteries isn't out of step with the motives behind the people who exploit the fact it exists as an institution to make money from it indirectly. Government lottery operations are there to persuade the population to voluntarily contribute money to ultimately be spent by governments on government priorities. In order to do that the lottery administrations have to maintain enough of a level of security in their methods and operations to pro
