The Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $1.7 billion for the December 24 draw after a record 46 rolls. The estimated probability that it will be won is 29.3%. This is the highest recorded probability for this run. Interesting to note, sales are projected to increase dramatically for the Saturday draw given the projected probability of a winning jackpot is 61.8%. The large jackpot will most likely not make it to the new year.

The Mega Millions jackpot increased by $10 million to $90 million. The supported jackpot is $78.8 million. In a earlier run where the jackpot reached the record $983 million, the supported jackpot was $66.9 million. The probability the jackpot will be won in the next draw is estimated at 1.9%. There will probably be several $10 million increases in the jackpot before it is fully funded by sales.

Apologies if this has been answered in some recent comments, but what accounts for the disparity in number of rollovers vs jackpot size? From the above list, that record jackpot of over $2B was achieved with 40 rollovers, whereas the current smaller jackpot of $1.25B has taken an extra 3 rollovers. Is it just the volume of tickets sold for this current cycle is less than previous, hence a lower jackpot amount?

Based on the worksheet I figured a roll should be about 1.011 billion, but playing it safe and advertising an even billion isn't a surprise. The most recent worksheet estimates the supported annuity at 1.017. Monday's jackpot finished almost exactly at the estimate for the supported annuity (a hair over 40k higher, based on the numbers I've seen), and last nights was about 3.6 million higher (935.5 vs an estimated 932.4). What's the track record on your system/filter, Dr. San? You have a lot to say on the knowledge of the game but can you show us winning tickets? It doesn't have to be a jackpot hit....just show where 2 to 5 numbers have hit on a regular basis. It doesn't have to be consistently, either. Thanks....well it depends on my budget... sometimes on Mid-Day I play a total of $10-25 sometimes the same for Evening.. ...but that's not everyday. I can't complain at all because I have seen I have won more than losing...I keep record so I don't go overboard, trying always to control myself. By the way, last year I won a lot of $ with 4 numbers and also a mini jackpot had to share it with 2 other people, but anyway, we all here are aiming at that BIG one, I know you all will reach that goal..!
