Looking For a 3 Digit FilterReply
Has anyone noticed that alot of the lottery software out there is written in vb and .net? I think it might be due to using excel as a test sand box and vb or . Net for the final product. Not saying that those languages should be used but that might be why of the software I have seen is written in vb or . Net for easier translation from excel to actual software.

Excel doesn't have any built-in formulas or algorithms to predict the next number in a random process such as a lottery. Many people here create their own formulas and macros to help them select numbers based on past draws. You need to formulate more specific questions for the forum members if your goal is to use Excel in this manner. There are many members who are willing to give tips and examples and share their files, but nobody is going to bother with a really vague request. Best of luck to

AN odd observetion ... If anyone has ever backtested frquency counts and left the 0 count numbers a character in excel... If you scroll fast the hit and miss streaks look like those falling number screens from the matrix movie but in excel :)

There's only 1000 combinations Doc. You're getting a little to deep for the pick 3. Open up your excel program. Copy and paste pick threes from your state and start creating formulas for tracking purposes. There's thousands of excel videos on youtube that will show you how to create almost any formula. If you don't start today. You'll be asking the same questions next year. Get it done dude.

I'm not an expert. I learned with Excel 2003. In the new versions I have to take a magnifier and a browser to find where is what. I took a class of VBA for Excel, also not at the nerd level. I agree about the Gail Howard software. However a suggestion might be to get the Lottery Master Guide and start to apply the ideas to an excel spreadsheet. Save money on software and learn new skills in excel. Just a siggestion tho.

@Bluegal1, Thank you for your compliment regarding Excel. I could not imagine trying to do this work without it. I am constantly figuring out new patterns and using Excel allows me to go back in history, just tweak a number here and there, and quickly see if my new theory makes sense. I also love not having to do so many calculations by hand. I only use Excel in a very basic way. You might want to give it a try again, and just keep it simple. I find it speeds things up a lot.
