Powerball Card Update Stinks!Reply
I bought a Mega Millions ticket on Tuesday, marking QP on the white balls and self picking the red ball and it worked. The last few times I played Powerball I bought a full quick pick, tomorrow I will mark QP on the white balls and self pick the red one to see if it still doesn't work. If it doesn't, maybe the clerk can override the slip, I'll post the results either way. On NY Lotto, I've been playing the same 10 lines for 4 years, 3 numbers hit on one line on Wed, so I have to get my dollar

I knew a guy that thought winning a 6/49 game jackpot with a quick pick was the same as beating odds of 14 million to 1 twice in one drawing. I guess he was loosely saying there were two random drawings, but his logic also applied to self picking six numbers or any other method to create six numbers. Though PB has a tongue-in-cheek explanation of winning QPs, never saw the actual ratio of QPs to SPs sales for any game. And play slips have QP options so we can't really call that method a self pic

Most you have ever won on a single Lottery Ticket? :)
I won $290 when I got quick pick 073 as a Straight/Box. :) I remember seeing that 073 won and I remember thinking, I think I won $40 because I think I have 730. Imagine my smile when I had 073. :D That's the most I have ever won on a single Lottery ticket. Second best mentions are $200 on 9828 and 8928 for $200 in the same drawing :D and $200 on 9432 at a $1 play, I looked up randomly and saw 9423 on a Building number and I went to a gas station and played 9423 box for a dollar and lo and behold

Speler is right. You cannot use math to work out the winning permutation in a random drawing. If you could, then it would prove the drawings were non-random and players would rightfully complain. Some people say RNGs can have flaws and that the numbers they output can follow patterns. That may be true but it would take a real mathematician to discover it, or maybe one of those quantum computers they got at the Google laboratories.
