Reduction Methods
Quote: Originally posted by JKING on January 11, 2005Todd, What I'm after here is -What's the most effective way to filter/reduce combinations. Is it by using many or just a few to achieve the amount of reduction your looking for. Which method gives you the greatest reward with the least pitfalls.A follow up question to all this is- Can you get a meaningful amount of reductions without exceeding a 100%+ error ratio?Just by the nature of reductions, you are introducing error to the game. You are

Connecticut lottery error gives players another chance to win
A malfunction with the Connecticut Lottery's equipment on Wednesday resulted in more winning combinations for ticket buyers in the state's mid-day drawings. The state Division of Special Revenue was investigating what went wrong with the drawings of the Mid-Day 3 and Mid-Day 4 numbers. The problem did not affect the nightly drawings, which are done on different machines, Lottery officials said.Officials discovered the malfunction after the numbers were drawn live on television just before 2 p

Sedertree Matrix Wheeling System
Hey Guys,Just wanted you to know that the combo4a.txt file has been completed by a member here at lotterypost. The problem with the permutation filter (4-Digit) now seems to be in the code itself. I did fix the TTTS Filter for the 4-Digit last night. Also I have rearranged both sets of S/T Filters from top to bottom, in the listboxes, in the order they should be.The permutation filter works perfectly for the pick-3. The problem is that the code for the pick-4 permutation filter is the same, so it

Sedertree Matrix Wheeling System
Quote: Originally posted by Sedertree on August 19, 2004Badger,The hit ration should be calculated on the settings (.sed) that you are using. Thus the hit ratio would be based on the filtered combinations and not the entire matrix. Look at the check window carefully and see if it shows the 432 as a hit with the SSS Filter deactivated when you run the check function.I'm on my way out the door soon for work so I'll follow up with this when I get home tonight.George....Near as I can figure, my or

Drawing error leads lottery officials to pay on two numbers
It is the state lotterys equivalent of a poker dealer forgetting a few cards from the deck.A missing nine ball led to lottery officials honoring two winning numbers for yesterday afternoons Tri-State Pick 3 game. The first numbers drawn were 7-2-2. When the mistake was caught, officials drew again: 1-9-9.Unfortunately, we cant prepare for every circumstance or happenstance, said Maura McCann, a spokesman for the lottery who has been doing the evening drawing for 15 years. It is very infrequent,

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
First Lottobuddy, Thanx for the link. It's a good one and I've bookmarked it.Your suggestions are well taken. I generally do not attempt a level of refinement you indicate in your calculations, but, as I've said, rely on moving averages of sales figures from long experience with the matter as described recently in this thread. I know that (since the week contains an odd number of days) that it makes a difference whether a drawing is on a Saturday or a Wednesday. Other factors that effect

Open Discussion: Define/Refine Prediction
WIN D... the 3 digit IS the barn, the penny's center would be the big jackpot games...I think that the reason most systems fail is that the initial design goal is flawed or not focused enough.MikeK... In the past, I have tried to use the forecasting functions in excel, but after several dozen draawings, it tends to align itself with the arithmetic mean of the numbers (average). Even in experimentation with how many draws to include, results that were positive were not repeatable. I have also tri

Lotto Sync test II retry
Hypersoniq:I do not agree with your thing. a 6 out of just 6 numbers is not impossible, but it is highly unrealistic to set this as your goal. Randomness should have a deterministic character in order to make this work out. (this can not be true, because sooner or later lotto results would get into a loop and repeat exactly the same outcomes !!). In my opinion it is not deterministic but probabilistic or partly both. The same thing can be seen in genetics. The deterministic part makes us humans

Wrong lottery numbers get transmitted
A computer error caused some television stations around Louisiana to broadcast the wrong Pick 4 numbers for the Louisiana Lottery's Tuesday night drawing, officials said.A live relay transmission from Louisiana Public Broadcasting to several broadcasters inadvertently transmitted the numbers 0-0-0-0 instead of the winning numbers, which were 1-3-7-9. Lottery officials said 800 Pick 4 tickets were sold with the numbers 0-0-0-0. Due to LPB's transition to a new automated system in our control room
